  • Patent number: 11646462
Abstract: A traction battery for an electrically operated vehicle, having a battery housing having a housing base, on which at least one battery module rests in a heat-conducting manner, which has an installation section, which can be clamped via a threaded bolt on a housing flange of the battery housing, wherein in the clamped state the threaded bolt is screwed together with a housing flange internal thread and the battery module installation section is clamped between a bolt head of the threaded bolt and the housing flange, specifically with a tolerance compensation unit interposed, which is supported between the battery module installation section and a housing flange upper side facing away from the housing base, wherein the tolerance compensation unit has a stop sleeve.

  • Publication number: 20220176790
Abstract: A setting arrangement for automatically attaching tolerance compensation elements to a respective component, in particular a battery housing part. The setting arrangement has a storage unit which is designed to receive the tolerance compensation elements and to position them correctly in a row in such a way that the tolerance compensation elements positioned in the row are oriented in the same way, and a movable setting unit which has a magazine in which the tolerance compensation elements correctly positioned in a row are receivable. The magazine has a first longitudinal extension in which the tolerance compensation elements received in the magazine are arranged adjacent to one another. The magazine has an opening, and the setting unit is designed to dispense the tolerance compensation elements individually through the opening.

  • Publication number: 20220145921
Abstract: A self-piercing rivet joint, having at least two components made of formable metallic materials having a strength up to 300 MPa, which are connected to one another in a riveting procedure, in which a self-piercing rivet pierces the first, stamp-side component with a setting force and is driven into the second, die-side component, specifically while maintaining a residual base thickness in the second component and while spreading out the self-piercing rivet to a spreading diameter in the second component. The self-piercing rivet is compressed after the riveting procedure down to 60% of its starting length and the spreading diameter is enlarged up to 140% to 150%, in particular to up to 140% of the rivet shaft diameter, specifically without damaging the self-piercing rivet by self-piercing rivet material cracks.

  • Patent number: 10239115
Abstract: A method for joining at least two parts to be joined which are arranged so as to overlap at least in a joining zone is disclosed using a joining element which is fed to the joining zone in a joining direction and which is designed so as to be free of undercuts at least in a shaft when seen opposite the joining direction. At least one first part to be joined that interacts first with the joining element in the joining direction, is punched by means of the joining element, and the joining element is pressed into a second part to be joined without punching through the second part. The shaft of the joining element is designed so as to be free of undercuts after being pressed into the second part to be joined and is arranged so as to contact the first and the second part to be joined with a radially applied force in a form-fit-free manner at least when seen opposite the joining direction.

  • Patent number: 10094412
Abstract: In a method for connecting a press-in bolt with a metal sheet, the metal sheet is positioned upon a cover element of a joining tool. The press-in bolt is forced by the joining tool in a pilot hole of the metal sheet as the metal sheet is supported by the cover element in its capacity as a die, until a head portion of the press-in bolt rests upon one side of the metal sheet and the cover element is pressed upon a shaft portion of the press-in bolt and radially deformed to rest upon another opposite side of the metal sheet.
