  • Publication number: 20100256979
Abstract: Services and performance characteristics are more and more frequently defined according to standard descriptions and formats, which is the case also for announcement services and dialogue services required especially in network services, for example. The associated descriptions are also provided in a standard form, e.g. by means of VoiceXML. When a service is introduced in the network, said descriptions are inserted into the network nodes, application, and/or media server. A browser functionality which reads and interprets the VoiceXML pages is required for processing the VoiceXML description on a media server platform such that the necessary basic functions of the media server can be allocated to the desired service and can be controlled. Prior art uses media servers comprising a single VoiceXML browser. The problem with such commercial products lies in the resulting suboptimality in terms of resource utilization and expenses, which is the case particularly for simple applications.

  • Publication number: 20090268608
Abstract: The invention relates to a plurality of common switching systems which are interconnected in order to form a virtual switching system. The number of the internal switching system is entered into the numbering of the port of the virtual switching system thus making a standardised user interface of the switching system become available. The port can be managed by a user in a traditional manner. The virtual switching system can be automatically configured due to said type of configuration when a central entity for developing the internal routing on the partial system is introduced, and then, optional geographical redundancy of the virtual switching system is possible.

  • Publication number: 20090135814
Abstract: In one aspect, a method for tapping conventional multimedia connections such as video telephony according to Lawful Interception standards in a packet-oriented network is provided. A control, for the duration of a call, replaces the point-specific data of the respective partner end by the point-specific data of the tapping device, thereby guiding the useful data flows via the tapping device, tapping them and optionally adapting them to the interface of the tapping agencies.

  • Publication number: 20090046710
Abstract: A cost-effective transmission of signaling data via a switching system comprising a first mostly highly reliable message distribution system, using at least one other message distribution system is provided. The signaling data is divided in the emitting peripheral appliance, into a data relevant to the switching system and data not relevant to the switching system. Relevant data is transmitted via the first message distribution system, and non relevant data which is transmitted via the at least one other message distribution system. Both parts can be joined together again in the receiving peripheral device to form the original signaling data. Furthermore, a stand-alone error detection process for the at least one other message distribution system runs in the peripheral appliances, giving rise to a deviation of the non relevant data via the original message distribution system, in the event of error, or the use of a functional, redundant peripheral device.

  • Publication number: 20090019140
Abstract: A 1:1 redundancy is provided. An identical clone being assigned to each switching system that is to be protected as a redundant partner comprising identical hardware, software, and database. The transfer is done in a fast, secure, and automatic manner by a superimposed, real-time capable monitor which establishes communication to the switching systems that are arranged in pairs. The transfer to the redundant switching system is done with the aid of the network management and the central controllers of the two switching systems.

  • Publication number: 20080225833
Abstract: According to prior art, for example, when danger or environmental catastrophe are imminent, the population is warned by information guided via the communication network. This type of warning is however limited when the communication network consists of a plurality of sub-networks and the (warning) information must thus be transmitted over network boundaries to the subscriber The invention solves this problem in that a warning profile is associated with each route/transit switching centre trunk group. The association is carried out during the establishment of the route/transit switching centre trunk group, and is updated as required as changes of the network configuration. Each network transition implicitly thus has one such warning profile.

Abstract: An individual accessibility profile specific to each subscriber is created when the communication connection is established, and a connection to the at least one communication terminal is established as required, according to the data stored in the accessibility profile, the information being supplied to the subscriber via connection when the subscriber is reached, and acknowledged by the subscriber on receipt thereof. Thus a subscriber is provided with information in the event of there being an imminent high level of danger or ecological catastrophe.

  • Publication number: 20080178037
Abstract: A process is disclosed for detecting the availability of components of a redundant communication system in which hardware components are available at least in duplicate, the redundant system components taking over the function of the previously active operating system components when one or more hardware components break down. The system components operate together in resource groups and each resource group can run on at least two hardware components. In order to permit system component availability to be detected, one resource group operates actively on precisely one single hardware component and the at least one redundant resource group runs on at least one additional system component in a standby mode, the data in the active resource group being automatically replicated.

  • Publication number: 20080114589
Abstract: A method for providing language-based services in a telecommunication system is provided. According to the method, the definitions of the respective services are globally defined exclusively in a central service controller and are then converted into regional formats in regional media servers in accordance with predefined transformation rules. In addition, the method utilizes data of the exchange for selecting the desired language.

  • Publication number: 20070270984
Abstract: In general, electrical units have to meet the requirements for high reliability and a high level of operational safety. This applies in particular to communications systems where the constant availability of all devices is necessarily required. For this reason, computer capacity is held in reserve in order to guarantee operational safety, so that in the event of failure of an electrical device, the currently-running functions can be transferred to additional (active) electrical devices. The control of these processes is carried out by a redundancy control. However, the problem associated with prior art remains, whereby all processes for redundancy control are expensive or unreliable, sometimes even both. An aspect of the invention provides a solution by virtue of the fact that each of the electrical devices is monitored by an additional electrical device and that, optionally, each of these devices, in turn, monitors at least one of the electrical devices.

  • Publication number: 20070263547
Abstract: In one aspect, a method for error detection in a packet-based message distribution system, according to which messages are distributed via a plurality of nodes and other system components, and each node comprises at least two addressable interfaces is provided. For the security of the system, the message distribution paths are designed in a redundant manner and redundancy paths are available in the message distribution system in the event of the breakdown of connections in the message distribution system. The invention topology of the message distribution system is known by the nodes, and the nodes check the accessibility of the other nodes by means of communication tests; interrogate intermediate system components by means of existing interfaces and in terms of the connection status thereof in relation to other nodes and/or system components, and signal optional error configurations, physical errors, and/or missing redundancy paths of the message distribution system.

  • Publication number: 20070141993
Abstract: According to the invention, the type of transmission of signaling information, for a user-interaction with a speech dialogue system in a packet network, is determined with relation to a simplifying processing for DTMF signaling information. A speech dialogue system without special hardware for the processing of DTMF in-band signaling is provided and maintains, during the codec negotiation or the fixing of the coding method for application, that only services with DTMF out-of-band signaling, or signaling by means of dedicated data packets (for example RFC 2833) are carried out by the speech dialogue system. The above may be achieved whereby coding methods with in-band signaling are basically not permitted with relation to the codec negotiation or the control device, controlling the speech dialogue system, is embodied such that, independently of the coding method, out-of-band signaling is always stipulated by the control device.

  • Publication number: 20070081524
Abstract: During the output of data and distribution services, user data streams frequently transferred to a corresponding communication device (i.e. information output system and/or the distribution system) are possibly irrelevant to the server. Despite this, resources for the processing of incoming useful data flows inside the communication device are provided in many cases on account of compatibility grounds. As a result, energy is reduced in the communication device. According to the invention, in order to reduce the efforts involved in processing useful data transferred in the direction of the communication device, at least one part of useful data is discarded prior to the implementation of working steps provided for the processing of useful data.
