The monitoring module has a sensor unit, whereby the axis of rotation of the monitoring module runs through the sensor unit. The sensor unit detects a variable representative of an acceleration in a plane normal to the axis of rotation of the monitoring module when the monitoring module rotates together with the tool/tool holder.
