  • Publication number: 20150164434
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention relate to a method for detecting the critical situation of a subject that comprises measuring a physiological parameter of the subject. The method includes (a) measuring the physiological parameter; (b) calculating a variation rate of the physiological parameter; (c) determining a synthesis variable for the physiological parameter by taking into account both the value of the parameter and the variation rate thereof; and (d) detecting a critical situation from the synthesis variable. Steps (a) to (c) may be implemented for at least two physiological parameters, and the method may further include determining a global decision variable from the different synthesis variables, the critical situation being detected during step (d) from the global decision variable. Embodiments of the invention can be used for improving the detection of accidents or health problems, particularly for the elderly at their places of residence.

  • Patent number: 8454539
Abstract: A method of detecting a risk of occurrence of a plantar ulcer includes the following steps: monitoring at least the temperature and pressure of the sole of at least one foot; as soon as one of the temperature and pressure parameters exceeds a threshold value, opening a first time window for monitoring the first parameter; if at the end of the first time window the first parameter still exceeds the threshold value, monitoring the second parameter during a second time window; and assigning a coefficient of risk to the event encountered.

  • Patent number: 8223011
Abstract: Method and system for detecting abnormal situations of a person in a living place. One such method involves: receiving information provided by a sensor carried by the person, which information relates to at least one vital variable of the person, receiving information originating from a series of motion sensors provided at various locations in the living place, and comparing said information with predetermined rules involving timeouts established as a function of the location and of the period of the day, or else different timeouts depending on whether an anomaly has been detected at the level of the vital variable, or else according to a common process relaunched upon each arrival in a new location although no abnormal situation exists, and in response to the previous step, triggering or otherwise a signalling of abnormal situation. Application in particular to the telesurveillance of the elderly, with improved discrimination between normal, anomalous and alert situations.
