    Abstract: A measuring device for the amperometric measurement of test strips 12, each having a test field moistenable by a liquid to be investigated and having measuring electrodes associated with the test field. The device includes at least one test strip receiver 20 for the insertion of a test strip 12, first contact elements arranged in the region of the strip receiver 20 for contacting the measuring electrodes of a test strip 12 located in the strip receiver 20, and an evaluation and control circuit. The strip receiver 20 is formed with a separate unitary housing which on its external side has second external contact elements 50 electrically connected with the first internal contact elements. The external contact elements 50 are designed for contacting opposite contact elements 16 connected with the evaluation and control circuit.

    Abstract: A strip ejector removes a longitudinal test strip (12), which has at least one test field for wetting by a fluid, from a measuring device that optically or amperemetrically measures such test strip. The ejector includes a clamping jaw holder (14), and at least two clamping jaws (18) arranged on the clamping jaw holder at a distance from one another. The jaws are moveable relative to one another between a freeing position in which the spacing between their clamping surfaces is larger than the width of a test strip (12), and a clamping position in which their clamping faces respectively engage parallel edges (22) of the test strip (12). An actuating element (24) moveably supported on the clamping jaw holder (14) has at least one control surface 30 arranged at an angle to the movement direction of the actuating element.

A measured value taken after a pre-given time is compared with a reference value and an indication is made if a relationship of the measured value to the reference value exceeds a pre-given threshold value.

A measuring field (16) of the measuring device associated with the test field of the test strip is divided into at least two measuring areas which, with respect to the insertion direction of the test strip, are arranged behind one another and are separately sensed. The test strip (20) has at least in the area lying in front of the test field (24), with respect to the insertion direction zones (28, 29) arranged behind one another and of different reflection or transmission abilities.
