  • Patent number: 8167691
Abstract: In a crop residue chopping and distributing arrangement for a combine harvester (10) with a straw chopper (60) and two discharge blowers (100), a guide element (150) distributes the crop residue stream over the two discharge blowers (100) is arranged between said blowers. Passages (162) remain between the guide element (150) and the discharge blowers (100) such that the crop residues can be rearwardly discharged onto the field by the straw chopper (60) through said passages. Outer guide elements (141) are provided between the straw chopper (60) and the discharge blowers (100) in order to deflect the outer regions of the crop residue stream inward. The straw chopper housing (19) may feature a curved bottom (112) that axially conveys the crop residues to the discharge blowers (100) at an angle, wherein a flat crop residue guide element (112) is arranged between the straw chopper housing (90) and the discharge blowers (100).

  • Patent number: 8147303
Abstract: The invention concerns a harvested crop chopper remains-and-distribution arrangement for a combine (10) with a straw chopper (60) and an impeller blower (80) arranged downstream of the straw chopper (60), that includes at least one impeller blade (82) arranged to rotate in a direction of rotation about an axis (84) for the distribution across a field of the harvested crop remains provided by the straw chopper (60). An axially outer region (104, 106,114) of the impeller blade (82) leading in the direction of rotation is curved or angled in the direction of rotation. The axial dimension of the axially outer region (106) of the impeller blade (82) increases toward the outside in the radial direction.

  • Patent number: 8128466
Abstract: A harvested material residue chopping and distributing arrangement for a combine (10) is provided having a straw chopper (60) and two distribution blowers (100) between which a guide element (150) is arranged for distributing the harvested material residue flow between the two distribution blowers (100). The tip (156) of the guide element (150) is positioned on the circumferential circle of the straw chopping blades (96) such that the blades (96) remove harvested material residue from the tip (156) during operation.

  • Patent number: 8029347
Abstract: The invention relates to a crop residue chopping-and-distributing arrangement for a combine, with a straw chopper (60) and two distribution blowers (100) arranged laterally alongside one another, on the periphery of which is provided a respective first shield (144), adjustable about axis of rotation (108) for modifying the distribution characteristics, that can be brought into an active position. It is proposed that the first shields (144) are respectively mounted on a rotary holder (176) rotatable about axis of rotation (84) of the associated distribution blower (100) and additionally carrying a second shield (146), which has a smaller dimension in the circumferential direction than first shield (144), so that second shield (146) can selectively be brought into an active position instead of first shield (144).
