  • Patent number: 9350874
Abstract: A method of transmitting speech and digital data via an analog speech channel within a single frequency band, wherein an analog speech signal is transmitted via the speech channel and a stream of digital data is encoded by an encoding device to a sequence of blocks of symbols taken from a predetermined set of symbols. The transmission of the analog speech signal is periodically blanked during predetermined spaced time intervals, and the blocks of symbols are transmitted during the time intervals. In each time interval a plurality of signals are transmitted via a corresponding plurality of spaced predetermined carrier frequencies. A receiver receives the analog speech signal and the signals transmitted during the time intervals. The signals are demodulated to recover the individual symbols and the respective block of symbols transmitted during the time interval groups, and the digital data is recovered by decoding recovered blocks of symbols.

  • Patent number: 7564324
Abstract: Currently, in transformationally coupled linear data bus systems having separate transmission and reception lines, two transformers are used in order to achieve electrical isolation of data bus and terminal. According to one exemplary embodiment of the present invention, a data bus system is specified in which the terminal is connected via a directional coupler to the data bus lines in order to transmit and receive data via the data bus.

  • Patent number: 7414530
Abstract: The present application describes a monitoring circuit for an aircraft. The monitoring circuit comprises an inductive system, wherein the inductive system comprises a multitude of air core inductors and capacitors. Depending on the distance between a target and the inductive system the frequency response of the inductive system is changed. The change in the frequency response is detected and displayed in a display unit. The monitoring circuit can be used to improve door monitoring in an aircraft.

  • Publication number: 20050157710
Abstract: In present data bus systems the problem of the “babbling idiot” arises, in other words a situation wherein a terminal arbitrarily starts to transmit although a signal is already present on the bus, thus blocking the bus. According to one exemplary embodiment of the present invention, a determination as to whether the data bus is available is made within the terminal. If it has been determined that the transmitter is transmitting although the data bus is not available, a fault is present and the sender is switched off by means arranged within the terminal.
