Abstract: A pressure device for recording media in tape form, in particular magnetic tapes, has at least one pressure element and comprises a support element. When the device is actuated by the head coming to bear, a deflection of the device takes place, and a pressing against the recording medium is effected automatically by at least one extension of the support element, this pressing ending automatically when the head is no longer in bearing contact. The bearing pressure may take place directly on the tape rear side or tape front side, or else indirectly on the tape front side or the tape rear side or both sides simultaneously. Pressing and/or antifriction and/or cleaning elements may also be arranged, at least partially, fixed in place with respect to the tape. The invention can be used in the case of all cassettes, film and magnetic-tape systems.

Abstract: A tape cassette is provided with curved/bent support liners, the longitudinal bends having different cross-sectional shapes and lengths and hence different effective spring constants. The hubs or reels and, if necessary, the tape rolls are guided and the tape sections to be wound/unwound are aligned.

Abstract: A right parallelepiped cassette is provided with a guide insert as a separate housing part which can be produced and machined separately and very precisely, contains important guide elements of the cassette and can be oriented in a predetermined manner on reference surfaces of the remainder of the cassette housing and fastened thereon. In a particular embodiment, the cassette contains detachably fastened spacing elements for measuring the alignment of the guide elements. The cassette can advantageously be used for any type of recording media in tape or strip form.

Abstract: An adjusting means for tape guide elements or magnetic heads effects adjustment exclusively in a plane at right angles to a reference surface. A fine adjustment mechanism, in particular a micrometer screw device, provides high accuracy of adjustment over a sufficiently wide range. The adjusting means can be used in any kind of magnetic tape cassette. Advantageous embodiments of such magnetic tape cassettes also form part of the present invention. By using the novel adjusting means, azimuth and skew losses can be compensated for in a simple manner.

Abstract: In a tape cassette possessing symmetrically arranged support liners, a compressive force dependent on the tape roll diameter is exerted by the liner and utilized for centering the roll and the tape. Force/diameter relationships, and embodiments of folded liners for achieving individual forces are described. A novel dynamic liner arrangement can be used in any tape cassette possessing high winding speeds and sensitive tapes, with frequently alternating rewind/playback operation.

Abstract: Guide elements for magnetic tapes wound or to be wound in the form of packs on flangeless spools, the guide elements being movable in the plane of rotation of the packs. At least part of the guide elements is located between the pack and the outermost winding and thus constantly guides the tape as it is wound or unwound, resulting in optimal tape guidance and consequently in a stable and accurate winding on the spool.
