  • Patent number: 8166786
Abstract: A wire-forming machine, comprising a machine frame, a wire feeder and a wire guide for transporting wire to a working area of the machine where the wire is processed by one or more tools. The tools are affixed on a tool plate on the machine frame and around a recess formed in the plate. A wire is fed through the recess to the working area of the machine. The tool plate is fitted on a second plate and is displaceable along a first direction (x) relative to the second plate, while the second plate is displaceable along a second direction (y) relative to the machine plate. Both directions (x, y) have an inclination of 45° each to the vertical normal axis of the wire-forming machine and are perpendicular to each other.

  • Patent number: 7334445
Abstract: A method and apparatus for producing an end lug of a spring member formed of a strand of wire, the strand of wire is initially gripped by two clamping jaws or a pair of tongs, held between said clamping jaws and, subsequently, at a predetermined distance behind the gripping tongs, while forming a rear wire segment protruding behind the spring element, is severed. In this regard, a shaping jaw conforming to the shape of the lug is employed as the one clamping jaw of the gripping tongs, around which the wire segment is bent by means of a shaping pin that can be inserted directly behind the other clamping jaw perpendicular to the longitudinal center line of the wire segment over the latter to form the lug. The relative movements between the shaping pin and the shaping jaw required for this purpose are generated by means of program-controlled movements of the gripping tongs and/or shaping pin.

  • Patent number: 7172153
Abstract: A molded body is tightly fitted to the wire guide block on the side facing the collet and laterally to the guide groove that is braced against the collet via attachment media coming in from the side of the collet and is attached to the latter in a wire guide for a wire processing machine, in particular a spring manufacturing machine. It is also used to guide a wire feed to wire processing tools and is attached to a wire guide block with a collet, thereby forming a guide groove for the wire.

  • Patent number: 6397900
Abstract: In order to control, in a wire shaping apparatus with a rotatable wire intake device (10), friction of the wire at the bore wall of a wire holder (52) which finally leads the wire towards the shaping station, and in order to reduce it to zero if necessary, it is suggested to provide said apparatus, the wire holder (52) of which can be rotated programmably controlled about the wire axis, with a remote controllable wire brake device (114) which acts radially upon the wire being fed along, and the wire brake device is programmably controlled.

  • Patent number: 5363681
Abstract: The invention relates to a wire shaping device. State of the art: DE 39 15 784 C1 discloses a wire shaping device comprising a program controlled rotating and displacing head which carries shaping tools and on to which moves the wire arriving from a stationary wire intake device. DE 22 64 589 C3 discloses, in the context of a spiral spring winding machine, a device for simultaneously taking in and twisting the incoming wire for producing an initial tension in the spring body. One disadvantage of the known wire shaping device is the relatively limited shapes of wire which can be produced. It is an object of this invention to improve the known wire shaping device for the purpose of increasing the range of finished shapes of the wire structures.
