  • Patent number: 5103627
Abstract: Apparatus for transporting spinning tubes mounted on peg trays for supply and removal of spinning tubes to and from a textile spinning machine comprises an endless upstanding conveyor belt to which a plurality of transport members are affixed at spacings therealong. Each transport member has a recess at its opposite leading and trailing sides such that the leading and trailing recesses of adjacent succeeding transport members are cooperative for receiving therebetween a peg tray. Each transport member also has a concave arcuate guide surface at its opposite leading and trailing sides such that the leading and trailing guide surfaces of adjacent succeeding transport members define an enclosure for securely positioning a peg tray therebetween.

  • Patent number: 5103628
Abstract: Apparatus for transporting spinning tubes mounted on peg trays for supply and removal of spinning tubes to and from spinning positions at opposite sides of a double-sided spinning machine comprises an endless upstanding conveyor belt extending about the machine. A plurality of transport members are affixed along two spaced transport sections of the belt each of a length corresponding to the spinning stations at the opposite machine side, for carrying peg trays with spinning tubes thereon. Obstruction elements are similarly affixed at spacings along the remaining extents of the belt to prevent receipt of peg trays therealong, whereby only the number of peg trays and spinning tubes required to supply the spinning positions of the machine are carried by the transport apparatus.

  • Patent number: 4984422
Abstract: A textile machine includes a plurality of tube support devices transported by a transport device to a tube transfer position for transfer of tubes between the tube support devices and a tube handling device. The tube support devices each include an upright member for individually supporting a tube in a substantially upright disposition, the upright member having a recess and an indicator device disposed within the recess. The indicator device cooperates with the transport device to indicate the presence of the upright member at an indicating position located at a predetermined location with respect to the tube transfer position. Accordingly, the transport device determines the presence of an upright member and responds accordingly to reliably position the upright member at the tube transfer position for transfer of the tube between the upright member and the tube handling device.

  • Patent number: 4938017
Abstract: A method and apparatus for automatically doffing fully wound bobbins simultaneously from the plural spindles of a textile spinning or twisting machine and subsequently donning empty tubes simultaneously onto the spindles. When doffing a fully wound bobbin from its supporting spindle, a trailing length of yarn from the doffed bobbin is helically placed about the spindle and, when subsequently donning an empty tube onto the spindle, the trailing yarn length is securely clamped at least partially between the empty tube and spindle, which trailing yarn length is automatically broken from the doffed bobbin upon its removal, to enable convenient automatic re-start of the machine.

  • Patent number: 4862686
Abstract: A lightweight, rigidified support stand for textile spinning and like machines may be easily manufactured with close tolerances without resort to a casting process by welding together a profiled sheet metal base having a substantially flat main support surface provided with a plurality of receptacles for fastening of machines components and a sheet metal brace member of a U-shaped profile. The formation of the fastener receptacles in the base member enables the receptacles to be arranged in a single plane with close tolerances, while the brace member serves to rigidify the base member.

  • Patent number: 4781015
Abstract: The invention relates to a tangential belt drive for a plurality of similar work units of a machine for the production of twisted or twined yarn. These units are subdivided into sections each having at least approximately the same number of work units and each driven through a tangential belt by an electric motor. Thereby, the number of work units in each section is established taking into account the required power and permissible belt stretch, so that the tangential belts have a considerably reduced width and thickness, compared to the ones commonly used. Further, the guide rollers of the tangential belts of neighboring sections are corotationally connected to each other. In order to improve synchronization and power transmission between sections, the contact angle is increased at the guide rollers and the drive pulleys. This may be done through the corresponding spatial arrangement of the drive pulleys with respect to the guide rollers or through use of an intermediate belt arrangement.

  • Patent number: 4730448
Abstract: The invention relates to a tangential-belt drive for a plurality of work units of the same kind, arranged at least in one row next to each other, of a machine for the production of twisted or twined yarns. The work units are divided into sections with at least approximately the same number of work units, each driven with an endless tangential belt. At least one electromotor is assigned to each section for driving the thereto pertaining tangential belt and guiding means for the tangential belt.In order to reduce the energy losses of such a tangential-belt drive, the width and thickness of the tangential belt used is considerably reduced, particularly to a width between 7 and 14 mm and a thickness between 2 and 2.7 mm. Size reduction becomes possible because the number of working units in each section is selected by considering the working capacity required by this number of work units and the acceptable belt stretch factor.
