  • Patent number: 9789522
Abstract: In order to improve the quality of pipe-like work pieces, a rolling mill has at least two successive consecutive rolling stages that have mandrel rods. A threading line for the mandrel rod of the second rolling stage can lie on an extraction line for the mandrel rod of the first rolling stage. The same advantage can be achieved in a rolling method for the production of pipe-like work pieces, comprising at least two successive consecutive rolling stages, wherein the two rolling stages perform the rolling with the use of mandrel rods. The work piece is brought from the mandrel rod of the first rolling stage onto the mandrel rod of the second rolling stage, without entirely emptying an interior of the work piece and/or without changing the direction of movement of the work piece or braking the work piece in the meantime and accelerating it once again.

  • Publication number: 20170283897
Abstract: Sensitive hollow blocks or tubes are elongated in a hot-forming elongator while maintaining, if possible, the internal structure that is present or that forms immediately after casting, and thereby, in the case of suitable method management, even thin-walled tubes or tubes rolled from centrifugally cast hollow blocks can be made available to a sufficiently operationally reliable extent. As a result, for the first time, it is possible for rolled centrifugally cast composite material tubes to be made available and for composite material hollow. blocks produced using centrifugal casting to be utilized for the production of a seamless tube.

  • Patent number: 9764368
Abstract: Disclosed is a rolling mill, in particular a rolling mill having more than one mill stand, comprising at least two rolls (30) which are mounted in a roll bearing in a mill stand to absorb rolling forces, further comprising means (40) for moving at least one roll relative to the mill stand as well as means (50) for determining the roll pass, the determining means having a pass reference (54) and a spatial reference (56) as well as means (58) for measuring the relative position between the pass reference and the spatial reference. In order to create a rolling mill that provides as accurate information as possible about the roll pass, the pass reference and/or the spatial reference is/are arranged peripherally in relation to the power flow occurring between the roll and the mill stand.

  • Patent number: 8904839
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a rolling mill for producing a seamless steel pipe in a continuous rolling process, where semi-finished material is first formed into a hollow block (8) in a rotary rolling mill, said block then being rolled in a multi-tooled continuous rolling mill (1) over a previously inserted mandrel (10) to form a tube blank (9), wherein the mandrel (10) receiving the hollow block and held by a mandrel holding and transporting device (5) disposed on the entry side is fed into the continuous rolling mill (1) and is transported back to the entry side after the tube blank has been rolled off of the mandrel (10) on an extracting rolling mill (4) connected downstream of the continuous rolling mill. An aim of the invention is to allow high production rates at the same product quality, particularly at a low drop in the temperature of the tube blanks.

  • Patent number: 5927122
Abstract: A device for guiding a rotating hollow blank emerging from a cross-rolling mill, especially an Assel mill, which device includes at least two tubular guide rollers that extend over the length of the hollow blank and are arranged next to each other below the delivery plane and parallel to the delivery direction of the hollow blank. The guide rollers are supported by support rollers arranged below the guide rollers. The speed of the guide rollers and the support rollers is synchronized with the delivery speed of the hollow blank. The guide rollers are adjustably mounted on inclined guide blocks. A plurality of upper guide rollers are pivotably mounted so as to be able to contact the outer surface of the hollow blank. Disk type rollers are arranged between the guide rollers to lift the hollow blank away from the guide rollers for ejection from the cross-rolling mill.
