    Abstract: Printing unit for rotary printing presses having at least one printing unit and at least one ink-conduction cylinder comprising an engageable and disengageable ink-reducing unit assigned to one of the ink-conducting cylinders and having at least one roller, a doctor blade engageable with the one roller and an ink-collection trough, the one roller, while printing is stopped but while ink is being supplied, being in engagement with the ink-conducting cylinder for removing from the ink-conducting cylinder substantially a like portion of ink film which would otherwise be removed by paper being printed in the printing unit.

    Abstract: A sheet transfer device for a printing machine for taking over sheets which have been aligned at front lays and for transferring the sheets to a sheet-guiding drum includes a pregripper device swivellable between a sheet takeover and a sheet transfer position. Gripper pads are carried by the pregripper device, and a gripper shaft is swivel-mounted in the pregripper device and carries gripper fingers which are associated with the gripper pads. Also provided are a device for connecting the gripper shaft and the gripper fingers so that swivelling movements of the gripper shaft are transmitted to the gripper fingers, and a swivel device for swivelling the gripper shaft about a longitudinal axis thereof.

    Abstract: Camless drive of an oscillating pregripper feeder for a sheet-fed rotary printing machine having a feed table, an impression cylinder and an oscillating pregripper feeder disposed between the feed table and the impression cylinder, the camless drive including a seven-bar linkage transmission system, the bars of which are articulatingly connected to one another solely by pivot joints, two cranks connected to the transmission system and revolvable at the same angular velocity for driving the transmission system, one of the linkages forming at least part of a pregripper of the oscillating pregripper feeder, the one linkage being disposed directly behind one of the cranks, the oscillating pregripper feeder having means for gripping a sheet to be printed which lies on the feed table, and the seven-bar linkage transmission system being actuatable by the cranks for transporting the gripped sheet along a given path directly to the impression cylinder.
