  • Patent number: 10119419
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for determining bearing play of exhaust-gas-turbocharger friction bearings comprising the following method steps: accelerating the exhaust-gas turbocharger or the body group from standstill to a maximum rotational speed and at the same time registering the vibration acceleration by means of a sensor; determining the constant-tone frequency of the friction bearing at at least one rotational speed; plotting the determined constant-tone frequency in a diagram, in which bearing-play ranges determined experimentally in advance are assigned to constant-tone frequency ranges; and establishing whether or not the determined constant-tone frequency lies in a bearing-play target range.

  • Patent number: 9664098
Abstract: A turbocharger (1) having a turbine housing (2), a compressor housing (3) which has a compressor outlet (20), and a silencer (21) which is arranged on an end region (22) on the compressor outlet (20) and which has a silencer housing (23) in which an insert part (25) is arranged so as to form at least one buffer chamber (24) which is connected via at least one opening (26) to an air-guiding duct (27). The opening (26) has an edge (28) with a radially inner corner (29) which is designed so as not to have a sharp edge.

  • Patent number: 9188129
Abstract: The invention relates to a compressor (1) of an exhaust-gas turbocharger (ATL), having a compressor housing (3) which has a housing inlet connecting piece (20) and a noise ring (21). The noise ring (21) is arranged in the housing inlet connecting piece (20) and is provided, on its outer circumference (22), with a multiplicity of chambers (23, 24, 23?, 24?).

  • Publication number: 20050167538
Abstract: Refiner fitting and process of forming a refiner fitting, which includes a base body, and at least two knife sectors detachably coupled to the base body to form a working side. The knife sectors include grooves and at least three refiner strips, and the knife sectors and refiner strips are structured to form one continuous part. The instant abstract is neither intended to define the invention disclosed in this specification nor intended to limit the scope of the invention in any way.

  • Patent number: 6600408
Abstract: A device for the targeted transmission of sound from an induction tract of an internal combustion engine in a motor vehicle into the interior of the motor vehicle, comprising a hollow transmission body which communicates with the induction tract on the intake side and which emits sound on the output side into the vehicle interior. In order to improve the sound emission of a device of this type, the invention proposes that the transmission body had a conduit section with a conduit cross-section and a chamber section with a chamber cross-section, whereby the chamber cross-section is larger than the conduit cross-section. The conduit section communicates with the induction tract on the intake side and opens into the intake side of the chamber section. The output side of the chamber section emits the sound into the vehicle interior.
