  • Patent number: 12291346
Abstract: A propulsion system for an aircraft comprises a closed cooling circuit which has at least one main segment and at least two secondary segments, in which a heat-transfer fluid circulates. Each secondary segment has: a leak detection device, a shut-off valve, and a non-return valve. The cooling circuit also has electronic circuitry configured to close the shut-off valve of a secondary segment when a leak is detected by the leak detection device of said secondary segment.

  • Publication number: 20240332574
Abstract: A method for controlling a fuel cell during operation of the fuel cell by determining a power requirement of a load electrically connected with the fuel cell, sensing an electromotive force of the fuel cell, determining an available electrical power from the fuel cell based on the sensed electromotive force of the fuel cell, calculating a deviation between the determined power requirement of the load and the available electrical power from the fuel cell, and controlling thermal operating parameters of the fuel cell to compensate for the calculated deviation. Also, a fuel cell system configured to perform such a method.

  • Publication number: 20240017843
Abstract: An aircraft propulsion system comprising a propeller, a plurality of electric motors, a transmission system configured to couple the electric motors to the propeller, and a propeller pitch adjustment system positioned at the rear of the transmission system. At least one of the electric motors is positioned in front of the transmission system. A connection structure is interposed between the propeller and the transmission system, the connection structure and the output shaft of the transmission system connected to the propeller being configured so that no electric motor positioned in front of the transmission system interferes with the propeller. Also an aircraft with such a system.

  • Patent number: 11572191
Abstract: A propeller-type propulsion system for aircraft comprising a propeller, a plurality of electric motors and a gearbox. The gearbox has an output shaft onto which the propeller is mechanically coupled, and has an input shaft onto which the plurality of electric motors is mechanically coupled, the input shaft being off-center with respect to the output shaft. All of the electric motors are mechanically coupled one after the other along the input shaft such that the electric motors are at least partially integrated into a space, on the opposite side of the gearbox from the propeller, that is left free owing to the input shaft and the output shaft being off-center with respect to one another. As a result, the diameter of the propulsion system, in a plane perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the propeller, is reduced. This improves the aerodynamics and the fuel consumption of the aircraft.

  • Publication number: 20230021085
Abstract: A propeller-type propulsion system for aircraft, comprises a propeller, a plurality of electric motors comprising nested coaxial respective driveshafts, and a gearbox having an output shaft onto which the propeller is mechanically coupled, and an input shaft to which the coaxial driveshafts of the electric motors are mechanically coupled. As a result, the diameter of the propulsion system, in a plane perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the propeller, is reduced. This improves the aerodynamics and the fuel consumption of the aircraft.
