Patent number: 5473748Abstract: A method and apparatus for automatically selecting process information for a plurality of image parts, in which a CPU, in an automatic reproduction process routine, determines a positional relation between two image parts in a page image based on figure vector data corresponding to the two image parts (S110). A rule including data such as vertical relative positions, types, and colors of the two image parts as a condition part and process information as an action part is previously stored as rule base RB in an external hard disk unit. When the two image parts are in a non-separate relation, the CPU reads attribute data of the two image parts in the non-separate relation (S150), and determines final process information by exchanging the attribute data with rule base RB (S190 and S200). The results of the processing including the final process information are then stored as a process information table TBL3.Type: GrantFiled: November 24, 1993Date of Patent: December 5, 1995Assignee: Dainippon Screen Mfg. Patent number: 5271362Abstract: A two-stroke engine comprising a spark plug arranged at the center of the inner wall of the cylinder head, and a fuel injector arranged on the periphery of the inner wall of the cylinder head. A depression extending from the point beneath the spark plug to the point beneath the tip portion of the fuel injector is formed on the top face of the piston. When the engine is operating under a light load, fuel is injected by the fuel injector only once toward the depression, and conversely, when the engine is operating under an intermediate load, fuel is injected twice. Namely, a first injection is carried out when the piston is at a lower position, and a second injection is carried out when the piston is at a higher position, to thus direct fuel toward the depression.Type: GrantFiled: June 21, 1991Date of Patent: December 21, 1993Assignee: Toyota Jidosha Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Tatsuo Kobayashi, Norihiko Nakamura, Kenichi Nomura, Hiroshi Nomura, Hiroaki Nihei, Eishi Ohno

Patent number: 5127379Abstract: An internal combustion engine comprising a spark plug arranged at the center of the inner wall of the cylinder head, and a fuel injector arranged on the periphery of the inner wall of the cylinder head. A depression extending from the position beneath the spark plug to the position beneath the tip portion of the fuel injector is formed on the top face of the piston, and fuel is injected toward the depression. When the engine is operating under a heavy load, the fuel moving along the axis of injection impinges upon the concaved inner wall of the depression at substantially a right angle. When the engine is operating under a light load, the injection time is retarded, and at this time, the fuel moving along the axis of injection impinges upon the concaved inner wall of the depression at an acute angle.Type: GrantFiled: May 28, 1991Date of Patent: July 7, 1992Assignee: Toyota Jidosha Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Tatsuo Kobayashi, Norihiko Nakamura, Kenichi Nomura, Hiroshi Nomura, Hiroshi Nihei

Patent number: 5115774Abstract: An internal combustion engine having an air blast valve which injects fuel together with pressurized air in the form of a conical shaped spray of fuel. A depression is formed on the top face of the piston, and the conical shaped spray of fuel is injected from the air blast valve toward the depression. The longitudinal width of the depression in the moving direction of the spray of fuel is larger than the transverse width of the depression in the direction perpendicular to the moving direction of the spray of fuel, and the opposing side walls of the depression, which define the transverse width of the depression, are positioned slightly outward from the side face of the conical shaped spray of fuel.Type: GrantFiled: July 26, 1991Date of Patent: May 26, 1992Assignee: Toyota Jidosha Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Hiroshi Nomura, Norihiko Nakamura, Kenichi Nomura, Tatsuo Kobayashi, Hiroaki Nihei

Patent number: 4821686Abstract: A two-stroke internal combustion engine comprising a cylinder head 14 having combustion chambers 18 with two intake valves 24 and two exhaust valves 26 arranged therein. Two intake manifolds 30 and 32, respectively, have branch pipes connected to each respective intake port 24. An intake control valve 48 l is arranged in one of the manifold 32, which closes at idling and under a low load of the engine. Further, a swirl S is generated about an axis of the combustion chamber 18 by a portion of exhaust gas caused to flow back from the exhaust ports 22 into the combustion chamber 18 after being once exhausted through the exhaust ports when the exhaust valves are opened, resulting in a two layered stratification in the combustion chamber between fresh air and remaining exhaust gas. A supply of fuel causees a further three layered stratification among a fuel mixture, fresh air, and burned gas, by supplying fuel at alternating cycles of the engine when the engine is under a low load.Type: GrantFiled: February 16, 1988Date of Patent: April 18, 1989Assignee: Toyota Jidosha Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Toyokazu Baika, Norihiko Nakamura, Hirosi Noguchi, Tosio Tanahasi, Katsuhiko Hirose

Patent number: 4781154Abstract: A two-cycle internal combustion engine having three, or a multiple of three, cylinders comprises a cylinder head having an intake port and exhaust port opened to a combustion chamber, to which fresh air compressed by a supercharger is introduced via an intake valve. The intake and exhaust valves are operated in response to a crank angle. A one-way valve is provided in the intake port so as to prevent air or gas from flowing back toward the supercharger. The exhaust valve is opened earlier than the intake valve when the speed of the downward movement of the piston is relatively high, so that a part of exhaust gas in the exhaust port flows back to the combustion chamber in the condition. In a heavy load condtion, cross scavenging and air charging effects due to exhaust pulsation can be achieved.Type: GrantFiled: June 2, 1987Date of Patent: November 1, 1988Assignee: Toyota Jidosha Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Toshio Tanahashi, Norihiko Nakamura, Michiaki Ujihashi, Hiroshi Noguchi, Toshio Ito, Toyokazu Baika, Katsuhiko Hirose, Kingo Horii

Patent number: 4732118Abstract: A two-cycle internal combustion engine comprises a cylinder head having an intake port and two exhaust ports opened to a combustion chamber, to which compressed fresh air is introduced via an intake valve. The intake valve and two exhaust valves are operated in response to a crank angle. One of the exhaust valves is opened earlier than the other exhaust valve and the intake valve when the speed of the downward movement of the piston is relatively high, such that a part of exhaust gas in the one exhaust port flows back to the combustion chamber in that condition. An exhaust gas swirl rotating around a cylinder axis is formed when the exhaust gas flows back and the fresh air is slowly introduced onto the exhaust gas swirl in that condition.Type: GrantFiled: June 8, 1987Date of Patent: March 22, 1988Assignee: Toyota Jidosha Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Toshio Tanahashi, Norihiko Nakamura, Michiaki Uzihashi, Hiroshi Noguchi, Toshio Ito, Toyokazu Baika, Katsuhiko Hirose, Kingo Horii
