Abstract: The present invention provides ease of attachment and adjustment in manufacturing steps and ease of maintenance, repair work, and safety, and eliminate necessity for jig substrate for adjustment so as to reduce cost. In a disk device 1 provided with a pickup unit and a traverse unit, wherein a pickup substrate and the like is electrically connected to the control substrate 12 after the control substrate 12 is placed at the top of the disk device, the pickup unit is adjusted after a short-circuit between an anode electrode and cathode electrode of a laser light-emitting element provided in the pickup unit is disconnected, and the operation of the pickup unit in the adjusting step is controlled using the control substrate 12. After the pickup unit is adjusted, the control substrate 12 is attached to the top end of side walls on both sides of a frame 11 and placed at the top of the disk device 1.
