Abstract: A communication apparatus that enables a device on a searching side to obtain a single search result, thereby reducing user confusion, even when the same search packet is received by network interfaces of the apparatus. The communication apparatus of a device on a searched side receives a search packet via one of a first and second NIC of the apparatus from a device on the searching side, and determines whether information that is same as information indicating the received search packet is stored. If the information is stored, one of the NICs to be used to respond to the search packet is selected, a response message is created, and the created response message is transmitted via the selected NIC to the device on the searching side. And if the information is not stored, the information indicating the search packet is stored.

Abstract: An information processing apparatus includes a receiving unit configured to receive a search request sent from an external apparatus, a search unit configured to search for a device matching a search condition included in the search request, a determination unit configured to determine an attribute of a device, and a transmission control unit configured to perform control so that information regarding the device is sent to the external apparatus as a search result in response to the search request when the device matching the search condition has a first attribute and so that the information regarding the device is not sent to the external apparatus as a search result in response to the search request when the device matching the search condition has a second attribute.

Abstract: A capable of preventing reception and processing of large data acquired based on a query string, thereby making it possible to prevent data reception and processing from affecting another event notification or registration request processing performed by the data processing apparatus. When a query string determination section determines that destination information for identifying a notification destination contains a specific character string, an event notification destination registration-determining section determines that the notification destination of information concerning the data processing apparatus is not to be registered in an event notification information-storing section. A Web service response-returning section returns a response indicating that the notification destination has not been registered, to an information processing apparatus connected to the data processing apparatus.

Abstract: A network system capable of autonomously changing a management configuration of a management device and managed devices in the network system. One of a plurality of devices connected to a network operates as a parent device that collects data from the other devices, and the remaining devices operate as child devices that transmit data to the parent device. When the load of the parent device becomes high, at least one of the child devices is selected and upgraded to a parent device. When the load of the original parent device decreases, the device upgraded to the parent device is automatically returned to the child device.

Abstract: A data processing device includes a notified party storage unit for storing a party notified of information on the data processing device; a notification unit for notifying each notified party of the information on the data processing device; a reception unit for receiving from an information processing apparatus a registration request for requiring notified party registration to the notified party storage unit; and a setting unit for setting at least one of the information processing devices as a specific information processing device, in which the notified party storage unit stores the notified party such that the number of the notified parties registered according to the registration request from information processing device that is not the specific information processing device does not exceed a predetermined number among the number of the notified parties that can be stored in the notified party storage unit.
