  • Patent number: 7884900
Abstract: A color filter layer is formed on a glass substrate of a counter substrate. A bank pattern is formed of the same material as a red color-filter portion, a green color filter portion and a blue color filter portion of the color filter layer at the outside of the color filter layer on the glass substrate in the same step. A light shielding material is coated in a bank between the bank pattern and the color filter layer to form a light shielding layer. The light shielding layer can be formed so as to be continuous with the peripheral edge of the color filter layer. The light shielding layer is less likely to overlap with the inside of a display frame portion of the liquid crystal panel, and the aperture ratio is less likely to be reduced. The number of manufacturing steps of the light shielding layer is reduced.

  • Patent number: 7329981
Abstract: An optical filter applied to a display apparatus, disposes on a substrate with transparency and has a maximum absorption wavelength ? in a wavelength range of 575±20 nm in connection with a wavelength range from 450 to 650 nm. The optical filter satisfies a relationship, 0.65?T1(?)/T2(?)?0.90 where T1 (?) is a transmittance at a central part of the substrate at the maximum absorption wavelength ?, and T2 (?) is a transmittance at a peripheral part of the substrate at the maximum absorption wavelength ?. The optical filter also satisfies a relationship, 0.90?(T1 (?1)/T2 (?1))/(T1 (?)/T2 (?))?1.05 with respect to transmittances wherein ?1 is each wavelength 450 nm, 530 nm and 630 nm, and ? is the maximum absorption wavelength.

  • Patent number: 6946160
Abstract: A method of forming a fluorescent screen where a pigment film and a fluorescent film are deposited on a surface of a light transmissive substrate, is presented. The method includes coating a pigment dispersion liquid on the surface of the light transmissive substrate to form a coated film and forming the pigment film by drying the coated film. The drying of the coated film is performed under conditions that a temperature of the corner portions of the light transmissive substrate is controlled to 36° C. to 50° C.

  • Publication number: 20020176932
Abstract: A method of forming a fluorescent screen where a pigment film and a fluorescent film are deposited on a surface of a light transmissive substrate, the method comprising: coating a pigment dispersion liquid on the surface of the light transmissive substrate to form a coated film; and forming a pigment film by drying the coated film; wherein drying of the coated film is performed under the conditions that a temperature of corner portions of the light transmissive substrate is controlled to not lower than 36° C., or that drying means which is exclusively assigned to dry the corner portions of the coated film is employed.

  • Patent number: 6140758
Abstract: A display screen having a color filter including a black matrix formed on a substrate of the display screen. A number of color filter layers, each formed in holes of the matrix, provide filtering of light components corresponding to the color of the filter layer. Also provided is one other color filter layer of a final color. This other color filter is also formed on the matrix and formed in another one of the other holes. Consequently, the other color filter layer can be formed without the need of exposing an associated resist layer, thereby simplifying the color filter manufacturing process.
