  • Patent number: 11216093
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus that detect computing device inputs by a pointing body are disclosed. One method includes detecting user inputs based on a received set of physical touches of a pointing body pressing an operation surface of a computing device indicating a pressed state of the operation surface detected by a pressure sensor, detecting a make event comprising a first physical touch including a first pressure value that is greater than or equal to a make threshold pressure value based on the detected user inputs, and utilizing a first threshold as the make threshold for use in detecting a first round of the make event and a second threshold, which is less than the first threshold, as the make threshold for use in detecting subsequent rounds of the make event within a first predetermined multi-click detection period of time. Systems and apparatus for performing the method are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20210333923
Abstract: An information processing apparatus includes: a pressure detection unit that detects a contact pressure on an operation surface of a touchpad; an area detection unit that detects a contact area on the operation surface of the touchpad; a threshold setting unit that sets a pressure threshold that differs depending on the contact area on the operation surface of the touchpad; and a determination unit that determines an input operation as a predetermined input operation, in a case where the contact pressure on the operation surface of the touchpad is greater than or equal to the pressure threshold.

  • Patent number: 8248032
Abstract: A method for controlling a charging system having multiple loads is disclosed. Power is supplied from an AC/DC adapter to a first charger, a second charger, and system loads. The first charger is operated at a setting value having smaller power consumption than a setting value necessary for a first battery pack when output power of a power source reaches a first threshold value during a time when the first battery pack is required to be charged in a standard charging mode. The first charger is operated at a setting value according to a specific charging mode even when the output power of the power source reaches the first threshold value during a time when the first battery pack is required to be charged in the specific charging mode. A second charger is operated at a setting value having smaller power consumption than a setting value necessary for a second battery pack when the output power of the power source reaches a second threshold value larger than the first threshold value.

  • Patent number: 6729376
Abstract: A sheet sorting apparatus which easily sorts sheets into groups, and makes these groups readily distinguishable on a single output tray. According to an aspect of the invention, there is provided a sheet sorting apparatus located at the sheet outlet location of an image processing device, the sheet sorting apparatus including a marker attaching mechanism for attaching markers at a certain position on the output sheets. The marker attaching mechanism includes a tape feeding device in which the tape has an adhesive surface along one side edge, a cutter for making a marker by cutting the tape at a preset length, guides for positioning the marker in the proper location on the output sheet, a marker attaching roller, and a feeder for feeding the sheet and marker together. The feeder presses the marker against the sheet to attach it. The advantages of the invention include the markers for separating the groups being attached to the sheets, so they will not fall out if the sheets are removed from the output tray.
