  • Publication number: 20240031501
Abstract: An apparatus memory stores first type information indicating whether an apparatus main body is a contract apparatus or a normal apparatus. The contract apparatus is usable in a case where an apparatus contract for an image forming apparatus is set. A consumable memory stores second type information indicating whether a consumable is a contract consumable or a normal consumable. The contract consumable is usable in a case where a consumable contract for an image forming apparatus is set. A controller is configured to: determine whether the first type information indicates that the apparatus main body is the contract apparatus; determine whether the second type information indicates that the consumable attached to the apparatus main body is the contract consumable; and switch a function usable in the image forming apparatus based on a combination of the first type information and the second type information.

  • Patent number: 9092126
Abstract: A communication apparatus is configured to, and a computer-readable medium causes a communication apparatus to store position information, acquire content relational information including titles summary information, and display each title of each content relational information in a scrolling single-line form. An accepting section accepts a selection of the displayed content title, and a summary display control section displays the summary information corresponding to the selected title. A selection information storage section stores selection information corresponding to the selected title. A priority setting section sets a priority for each content title of the content relational information based on the corresponding selection information stored in the selection information storage section. The display control section displays and scrolls each title of each of content relational information in a single-line form in a descending order based on the priority of each title.

  • Patent number: 8446600
Abstract: A multi function peripheral with a plurality of functions includes a function selecting unit accepting therethrough an input to select a function to be executed from the plurality of functions, a display unit displaying thereon an information screen showing information on the function selected through the function selecting unit, and a display control unit controlling the display unit to, each time a function is selected through the function selecting unit, display thereon a first information screen showing information on the selected function. When a second information screen showing information on a function in execution has been displayed on the display unit, the display control unit controls the display unit to display thereon the first information screen concurrently with the second information screen.

  • Patent number: 8284463
Abstract: An image reading apparatus includes a document table that is transparent, a read unit that reads a document placed on the document table through the document table so as to generate image data representing a read image of the document, an extraction unit that converts the image data of the read result of the read unit into edge image data representing an edge image and extracts edge points satisfying a predetermined condition as edge points corresponding to a side of the document placed on the document table from the edge image data, an outer margin recognition unit that approximates the edge points corresponding to each side of the document extracted by the extraction unit to a line so as to recognize an outer margin of the document, and a likelihood evaluation unit that evaluates the likelihood of the outer margin recognized by the outer margin recognition unit.

  • Patent number: 8174737
Abstract: An image reading apparatus includes a document table, a read unit that reads a document so as to generate image data representing a read image of the document, a partial prescanning unit, which conveys the read unit in a partial area of a readable area of the document table, and which controls the read unit to execute read operation in the partial area, a corner estimation unit, which converts the image data of the read result of the read unit into edge image data representing an edge image, and which estimates position coordinates on the document table corresponding to two of four corners of the document on the assumption that the placed document is quadrangular based on the edge image data, and a document estimation unit that estimates the state of the placed document based on the estimation result of the corner estimation unit.
