Patent number: 5029028Abstract: A tape player which is reduced in number of parts to permit the space on a head base to be utilized effectively and easy to assemble. The tape player comprises a pinch roller shaft secured to a head base, and a torsion coil spring interposed between the head base and a slide base for urging the head base toward a reel base. When the slide base is moved toward the reel base, the head base is moved in the same direction by way of the torsion coil spring. When the slide base is further moved after stopping of the head base with the pinch roller contacted with a capstan, the torsion coil spring is compressed thereby to resiliently contact the pinch roller with the capstan with a tape held therebetween. The slide base has first and second guide elements formed thereon. The first guide element is fitted in a first guide slot formed in the head base to guide the head base for sliding movement on the slide base.Type: GrantFiled: October 26, 1989Date of Patent: July 2, 1991Assignee: Alps Electric Co., Ltd.Inventors: Norimasa Komatsu, Asashi Miyazaki

Patent number: 4862301Abstract: Disclosed is a double cassette tape player wherein a single magnetic head is used to perform the playback and recording operations for both cassette tapes. The cassette tapes are each mounted in a cassette mounting section and the magnetic head is mounted on a head base which is slidably mounted on a sliding member disposed on the chassis. A drive mechanism is provided to move the head base in reciprocating fashion on the sliding member such that the magnetic head can move from one cassette tape to the other, thereby eliminating the need for a magnetic head for each cassette tape.Type: GrantFiled: October 20, 1987Date of Patent: August 29, 1989Assignee: Alps Electric Co., Ltd.Inventor: Norimasa Komatsu

Patent number: 4847714Abstract: A magnetic head adjusting device for a double cassette tape player wherein a single magnetic head is used commonly and alternately for a pair of cassette loading stations and azimuth adjustment of the common magnetic head can be effected individually at the two cassette loading stations. The device comprises a head base mounted for movement between a pair of cassette loading stations on a chassis, a resilient support member secured to the head base, a single magnetic head carried on the resilient support member, and an adjusting member located at each of the cassette loading stations for adjustably changing, against the resilient force of the resilient member, the inclination of the magnetic head moved to the cassette loading station together with the head base.Type: GrantFiled: December 11, 1987Date of Patent: July 11, 1989Assignee: Alps Electric Co., Ltd.Inventor: Norimasa Komatsu

Patent number: 4734806Abstract: A small-sized, multifunctioned micro cassette tape player has one motor and one solenoid and a drive plate connected to the solenoid for moving a head base and a pinch roller between engaged and retracted positions. The tape player has a cam mechanism which includes a cam plate having a stopper portion for engaging a control pin on the drive plate to hold the drive plate at an intermediate retracted position from the engaged position, when the solenoid is deenergized for the first time after being energized, for high speed cue, review, and erasure operations. The cam plate also has a displaceable guide portion for allowing the control pin to pass and the drive plate to return to the fully retracted position when the solenoid is again energized and deenergized.Type: GrantFiled: April 16, 1986Date of Patent: March 29, 1988Assignee: Alps Electric Co., Ltd.Inventor: Norimasa Komatsu
