  • Patent number: 6737828
Abstract: A washing machine motor drive device drives a motor using an inverter circuit, which implements a constant torque control through a change in the torque-revolution speed characteristic of the motor. This facilitates an easy control of braking torque (negative torque), thereby providing a maximized braking torque. An easy control of regenerative energy is also provided, and back electromotive force is consumed by the internal resistance of the motor. Practically described, DC power of a rectifier circuit connected to an alternating current source is converted by an inverter circuit into AC power for driving the motor for operating an agitator or a washing/spinning tub. Motor rotor position is detected by rotor position detector, motor current is detected by current detector, and a control device controls the inverter circuit for resolving the motor current into a current component corresponding to magnetic flux and a current component corresponding to torque.

  • Patent number: 6546762
Abstract: A washing machine includes a washing shaft for rotating agitating blades disposed in a dewatering tank, and the washing shaft is disposed coaxially on a hollow dewatering shaft for rotating the dewatering tank. The washing shaft is connected to the output side of a reduction mechanism, and a washing side input shaft is connected to the input side of the reduction mechanism to rotate the washing shaft by decelerating the rotation of a drive motor. A rotor of the drive motor is coupled to the lower part of the washing side input shaft. Therefore, the rotating torque of the agitating blades can be increased without increasing the torque of the drive motor. In addition, if the laundry collides against the agitating blades, the eccentricity to the washing side input shaft is suppressed, thereby the increase of the washing capacity can be handled without increasing the size of the drive motor.

  • Patent number: 6206498
Abstract: A nozzle wiping apparatus comprises an ink-absorbent sheet placed below the ink discard hole to collect the sucked ink discarded through the ink discard hole and an ink absorbent sheet winding mechanism to wind up the ink-absorbent sheet. The ink-absorbent sheet is kept in contact with a part of the nozzles after completion of the purging operation so the nozzles may be moved relative to the ink-absorbent sheet to thereby wipe ink deposited on the nozzles.

  • Patent number: 6202452
Abstract: A motor drives, via a hollow dryer shaft, a basket doubling as a washing basket and a spin-dryer basket. The motor rotating speed is reduced by a speed reduction mechanism, thereby driving an agitator disposed in the basket via a washing shaft that is axially aligned with the dryer shaft. A clutch switches transmission of the motor driving force either to the dryer shaft or to the washing shaft. The speed reduction mechanism and the motor are axially aligned with one another. The clutch is placed within a motor bracket, and is controlled by a clutch driver that is inserted into the bracket through a hole provided on the motor bracket. These arrangements restrain unbalance of a water tub during a dehydrating step, as well as prevent water or fingers of users from entering the motor.

  • Patent number: 6053602
Abstract: An on-demand multi-nozzle ink jet head includes a diaphragm and a plurality of piezoelectric stacks. The diaphragm forms at least one wall of a pressurizing chamber used to increase the pressure of the ink. When print signals are applied to the piezoelectric stacks. The stacks generate pressure fluctuations in the walls of the pressurizing chamber. An elastic material with adhesive properties is used to bond the diaphragm to the piezoelectric stacks, which elastic material has a Shore hardness of less than 80 on the A scale and less than 30 on the D scale.

  • Patent number: 5870126
Abstract: An ink jet printer having bubble purging arrangement for discharging bubbles mixed in the ink out of a print head. The print head has a main tank for storing ink, a sub tank for collecting and storing ink, and a manifold fluidly connecting the main tank and the sub tank. The manifold is in fluid communication with the nozzles for supplying ink from the main tank to the nozzles. Three kind of purging modes are provided in accordance with purging position of the print head. Pressurizing pump is selectively connected to the main tank or sub tank or both main tank and the sub tank through a valve arrangement. If the pump is fluidly connected to the main tank only, the ink in the main flows into the sub tank. If the pump is fluidly connected to the sub tank only, the ink in the sub tank flows back into the main tank. By alternating the fluid connection, bubbles mixed in the ink is gradually concentrated at an upper portion of the manifold.

  • Patent number: 5381168
Abstract: A suction purging unit for removing dusts solidified ink etc. from nozzles of a print head of an ink jet printer, the nozzles being arrayed in a moving direction of the print head. A contact portion is provided at one side of a body portion in which a fluid passage is formed. The contact portion is contactable with at least one of the nozzles for suction purging, and is separated from the nozzle between-suction purging mode. The body portion is pivotally movable toward and away from the print head, and is vertically movable. The body portion is movable along a top surface of the print head when the latter is moved in the moving direction.
