  • Patent number: 8127027
Abstract: According to one embodiment, there is provided a telephone system comprises terminal devices which process a signaling protocol, and a server which forms a session with each terminal device using a first protocol or a second protocol as a lower layer protocol of the signaling protocol. The terminal device comprises request module requests the server to form a session using the first protocol. The server comprises determination module, session forming module and switching module. The determination module determines permission or rejection to the request. The session forming module forms a session with a request source terminal device using the first protocol when the request is permitted, or using the second protocol when the request is rejected. The switching module switches the lower layer protocol of the session from the second protocol to the first protocol when the request from the terminal device is permitted.

  • Publication number: 20110261808
Abstract: According to one embodiment, a server apparatus includes a detector and a controller. The detector detects a dual tone multi frequency (DTMF) notification event sent from a communication partner server apparatus in a state that voice communication is performed between telephone terminals by way of a plurality of server apparatuses. The controller executes at least one of a change of a payload type included in a header of a received communication packet and a replacement of a payload data of the communication packet with a DTMF data, based on a detection result by the detector.

  • Patent number: 7860082
Abstract: According to one embodiment, a telephone system comprises a plurality of terminal devices and a main unit. The terminal device realizes telephone communication via a packet-switched network. The main unit accommodates the terminal devices via the packet-switched network. Each of the terminal device comprises an update module, a storing unit, a read module and an access module. The update module updates firmware functioning inside the device in accordance with an instruction from the main unit. The storing unit stores access information for accessing an ante-unit, to which the terminal device is currently connected, before update of the firmware. The read module reads the access information from the storing unit after update of the firmware if an post-unit to which the terminal device is to be connected under the updated firmware differs from the ante-unit. The access module which accesses the ante-unit by using the read access information.

  • Publication number: 20100106843
Abstract: According to one embodiment, a communication system comprises a plurality of communication devices connected to a communication network. The plurality of communication devices each comprises a negotiation module and a shifting module. The negotiation module determines a CODEC to be used for a peer to peer communication by notifying a priority order of a plurality of CODECs from a transmitter side to a receiver side in negotiation prior to start of the peer to peer communication. The shifting module shifts the priority order of CODECs based on a predetermined standard to optimize a quality of the peer to peer communication.

  • Patent number: 7194074
Abstract: A new key telephone system including a new key telephone and new telephone interface which use a new data transmission scheme has been developed, unlike an old key telephone system including an old telephone and old telephone interface unit which use an old data transmission scheme. The new telephone interface unit and new key telephone are compatible with both the new and old data transmission schemes. Even if, therefore, the new telephone interface unit is connected to the old key telephone, or the old telephone interface unit is connected to the new key telephone, data transmission can be performed by using the old data transmission scheme, thus maintaining compatibility.

  • Patent number: 7039019
Abstract: A telephone exchanging apparatus 30 comprises a joined terminal table 341, a joined terminal table operating portion 352, and a reception side designating portion 355. The joined terminal table 341 stores terminal identification information that identifies a telephone terminal 40 that will join a conference. The joined terminal table operating portion 352 operates the joined terminal table 341 corresponding to joined terminal table operation commanding information. The reception side designating portion 355 designates the reception side of a speech packet transmitted from the telephone terminal 40. Since the joined terminal table 341 is operated by the joined terminal table operating portion 352, even if the number of people who join a conference increases, they can be easily added or deleted.

  • Patent number: 6978000
Abstract: An interface unit connected between a telephone and a telephone network sets a data transmission speed to an optimum speed. The interface unit transmits a type query signal to the telephone terminal at a first speed. The telephone terminal transmits a type signal to the interface unit at the first speed in response to the type query signal. When the interface unit receives the type signal from the telephone terminal, the interface unit changes a transmission speed to a second speed higher than the first speed if the received type signal indicates that the telephone terminal is capable of transmitting data at the second speed. The interface unit also transmits a speed change request to the telephone terminal at the second speed.

  • Publication number: 20030053614
Abstract: To add new functions to key telephone apparatuses, the user PC in the user system transmits a function add request to the customer center. The function add request includes information on the functions to be added and the telephone numbers of the key telephone apparatuses. Then, the customer center accesses the user's key telephone apparatuses via a public network on the basis of the received telephone numbers, acquires function information about the key telephone apparatuses, and determines whether the functions can be added, on the basis of the function information. Then, if the functions can be added, the customer center sends license codes for the functions to be added to the user's key telephone apparatuses via the public network, thereby additionally setting the functions.
