  • Patent number: 4528210
Abstract: An input phosphor screen includes a substrate having a substantially smooth surface, and first and second phosphor layers both vapor-deposited sequentially on the substrate. The first layer is made of phosphor crystal particles having a mean diameter of 15 .mu.m or less. The second layer has a thickness ten or more times that of the first layer and is made of individual columnar crystals of alkali halide grown vertically on the crystal particles, standing close together with fine spaces therebetween. A third layer is preferably deposited on the second layer as a continuous film. These three layers can be deposited by evaporating a phosphor material or materials at a prescribed temperature and at a predetermined degree of vacuum.

  • Patent number: 4245160
Abstract: An image intensifier apparatus which comprises an image intensifier for converting incoming radiation into light rays on an input fluorescent screen, further converting said light rays into electron beams on a photocathode, focusing said light rays by an electron lens system and converting said focused light rays into the visible form by an output screen; and a housing which receives the image intensifier and whose inner side wall is fitted with a radiation leakage-preventing layer and first magnetism shielding layer, and wherein second magnetism-shielding layer having a high radiation permeability is formed on any of those portions of the image intensifier apparatus into which radiation is carried.

  • Patent number: 4217518
Abstract: A storage target capable of storing an electric charge corresponding to an input signal and also converting the stored charge image into a visible form is provided on the inner wall of a faceplate closing the opening of a funnel constituting an evelope of a direct-viewing storage tube. The storage target includes a collector electrode formed on the inner wall of the faceplate; a plurality of fluorescent dot islands provided in contact with the collector electrode; and a dielectric material formed between those of the fluorescent dot islands which are arranged on the outermost peripheral edge of the storage target and a sealed portion joining the opening of the funnel and the faceplate so as to face the collector electrode and surround the effective area of the storage target, thereby preventing the luminescence of that portion of the target which is positioned around the peripheral edge of the effective area of the storage target.

  • Patent number: 4101766
Abstract: An X-ray image intensifier photofluorography apparatus for correcting the output image brightness while photographing an optical image of a subject in an optical camera through a lens system by amplified light into which X-rays are converted after passing from an X-ray source through the subject to an X-ray image intensifier, wherein filter means whose X-ray permeability is represented by an axially asymmetric form relative to the central horizontal axis between the X-ray source and X-ray image intensifier to correct the distribution of the intensity of X-rays emitted from the X-ray source. The X-ray permeability of the filter means is adjusted by changing a length of X-ray path or the thickness of the filter means through which X-rays are transmitted.
