Patent number: 8490839Abstract: In a filtering dispenser container which includes a plug attached to a mouth portion of a bottle thereof and having a liquid discharge passage, and a filter and a check valve provided in the discharge passage, air lock is prevented, even if the container contains a highly percolative liquid, by preventing a very small amount of liquid percolating the check valve from reaching the filter. In the filtering dispenser container, a dam (14) is provided between the check valve (23) and the filter (25) for retaining a very small amount of the liquid percolating the check valve (23) when the check valve is closed. Thus, the filter (25) is prevented from being wetted with the liquid percolating the closed check valve (23) during storage or delivery of the container before the first use of the container.Type: GrantFiled: May 21, 2009Date of Patent: July 23, 2013Assignees: Taisei Kako Co., Ltd., Nihon Tenganyaku Kenkyusyo Co., Ltd.Inventors: Hirokazu Mihashi, Seiji Yoshimura, Kazuko Suzuki, Yorihisa Uetake, Norio Hoshi, Shinji Matsuda, Hidetoshi Kondo

Patent number: 7694985Abstract: A lightweight motorcycle frame is made with sufficient rigidity to minimize or avoid the occurrence of frame cracks, due to impacts on the frame caused by a harsh landing after a vehicle jump or the like. The motorcycle frame includes a head pipe, a pair of main frames extending rearwardly from the head pipe, and a down tube extending downwardly from a lower portion of the head pipe. The frame may include a forged reinforcing body for connecting the head pipe and the down tube, and the other frame components may be formed by casting. In this case, the other frame components include a portion of the head pipe, the main frames, the down tube, and the reinforcing frame, which may be integrally molded by aluminum casting. Where used, the reinforcing body may be secured to a front portion of an integrally cast frame body.Type: GrantFiled: May 24, 2006Date of Patent: April 13, 2010Assignee: Honda Motor Co., Ltd.Inventor: Norio Hoshi

Patent number: 7681680Abstract: A motorcycle body frame includes a main frame including a head pipe for supporting a front suspension at the front end thereof, a single leading frame portion extending rearwardly from the head pipe, and a rear frame portion for supporting a rear wheel suspension. The rear frame portion extends substantially downwardly from a rear part of the leading frame portion. The main frame, cast from an aluminum alloy, includes two component parts arranged front-to-rear. For example, a front frame portion is provided, and a rear frame portion is fixed to the rear side of the front frame portion. The leading frame portion has a small section portion, where the main frame is smallest in sectional area, disposed substantially centrally in the longitudinal direction thereof. The two component parts of the frame are joined at a coupling portion of the main frame situated in back of the small section portion.Type: GrantFiled: March 2, 2006Date of Patent: March 23, 2010Assignee: Honda Motor Co., Ltd.Inventors: Yuzuru Ishikawa, Masayuki Taniguchi, Kenji Hasegawa, Shunichi Nakajima, Koji Shimokawa, Norio Hoshi

Patent number: 4881614Abstract: A motorcycle exhaust pipe arrangement includes a frame having a head pipe, a main pipe, a down tube, at least one under pipe and a pair of center pipes. A fuel tank is operatively connected to the main pipe. An engine is mounted on the at least one under pipe and is disposed beneath the fuel tank. A seat is mounted adjacent said fuel tank and is disposed above the engine. A rear shock absorber is operatively mounted between the seat and the at least one under pipe for absorbing shock supplied to the seat. The rear shock absorber is centrally disposed relative to a longitudinal axis of the motorcycle. An exhaust pipe is connected to the engine and extends rearwardly therefrom, the exhaust pipe is disposed substantially at a midpoint of the rear shock absorber and extends substantially horizontally therefrom in the longitudinal direction of the motorcycle for lowering the center of gravity of the motorcycle and providing a symmetrical rigid frame for supporting the engine, fuel tank and seat.Type: GrantFiled: February 16, 1988Date of Patent: November 21, 1989Assignee: Honda Giken Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Norio Hoshi, Tetsuro Yamaguchi, Yasuhiro Okada, Takao Matsukawa

Patent number: 4655310Abstract: An automotive vehicle includes an engine mounted on a frame and including a rotatable drive sprocket fixedly mounted on the drive shaft fixedly mounted on the drive shaft. A rear wheel suspension device includes a generally horizontally-disposed swing arm supporting a rear wheel at one end thereof, the swing arm extending along the length of frame. An endless transmission member is extended around and engaged with the drive sprocket and a driven sprocket, secured to the rear wheel, for driving the rear wheel. A bearing device is mounted on the frame and includes a bearing member pivotally supporting the other end of the swing arm for allowing it to be swung vertically about an axis which is disposed rearwardly of the drive shaft in generally parallel relation thereto.Type: GrantFiled: December 30, 1985Date of Patent: April 7, 1987Assignee: Honda Giken Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Norio Hoshi

Patent number: 4402379Abstract: An air cleaner system for a motorcycle having a single shock absorber disposed between an engine and a rear wheel so as to be close to the center of gravity of the vehicle body. The air cleaner system includes substantially one casing having an air intake opening and an air cleaner element provided therein, the casing being disposed between the engine and rear wheel substantially surrounding at least part of the shock absorber. The relatively large space between the engine and rear wheel is thus effectively utilized such that the air cleaner system has a desirably large capacity for supplying air to a multiple-cylinder, multiple-carburetor engine, and at the same time good maneuverability and high stability of the motorcycle is ensured.Type: GrantFiled: June 30, 1981Date of Patent: September 6, 1983Assignee: Honda Giken Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Norio Hoshi
