  • Patent number: 8080084
Abstract: A method for recycling steelmaking dusts has a granulating step of mixing steelmaking dusts, containing as a principal component iron and oxides thereof produced during the steelmaking in a melting furnace, with a powder containing carbon as a principal component and granulating the resultant mixture to provide mixed granules, a water impregnating step of immersing the mixed granules in a water to allow them to be impregnated with the water, a solidifying step of molding the water impregnated, mixed granules under pressure within a mold assembly to provide a solid body of the steelmaking dusts, a step of transporting the solid body of the steelmaking dusts as a raw material to be charged into the melting furnace, an enhancing step of increasing the concentration of zinc in the dusts, and a dezincing step of dezincing the dusts during a period from acquisition of the steelmaking dusts out of the melting furnace to the solidifying step.

  • Patent number: 7842119
Abstract: A solidified product (B) is produced by charging a dust (11) generated in a steel making process and containing iron and an oxide thereof as a principal component into a mold (7) and by subjecting it to a pressure molding. A raw material charged to the mold is a mixed granulated product (11p) prepared by mixing the dust and a powder containing carbon as a principal component and by granulating the resultant mixture.

  • Publication number: 20090165599
Abstract: Steelmaking dusts produced during the manufacture of iron and steel by means of a melting furnace and containing iron and iron oxides as a principal component are mixed, and granulated, with a powder containing carbon as a principal component to provide mixed granules. The mixed granules are, after having impregnated with water before the molding thereof, molded under pressure within a mold assembly to provide briquettes, which are solidified bodies of the steelmaking dusts. The briquettes are reused as a raw material to be charged into the melting furnace. When the dusts having a concentration of zinc enhanced are dezinced, reduction in amount of dezincing treatment and increase of the efficiency of the dezincing treatment can be achieved.

  • Patent number: 4776083
Abstract: An apparatus for mounting a siphon tapping tube onto a tap hole mounting part of a converter vessel has a lower car and an upper car, which are placed on a ladle car which travels beneath a converter vessel, the lower car and the upper car being capable of travelling in the direction of the travel of the ladle car and in the direction perpendicular to that of the travel of the ladle car, respectively, a loading table mounted on the upper car, which is guided by an upright support frame and being capable of moving upward and downward with a siphon tapping tube loaded on the table, and bolt tightening and untightening units which are provided on the loading table in positions corresponding to the respective bolt hole set positions in the flange of the siphon tapping tube and are capable of receiving mounting bolts. TV camera is provided on the upper car, allowing the operator to monitor the tap hole mounting part.
