  • Patent number: 6021915
Abstract: A foldable and simplified water tank characterized by a cylindrical shape and a side wall formed by a sheet made from synthetic resin, and the stiffness of said sheet, measured in accordance with the measuring method prescribed in Japan Industrial Standard L-1096 is from 100 to 1000. The water tank can be made to stand up by itself by only pouring water into it.

  • Patent number: 4471249
Abstract: The invention is concerned with the construction of a connection portion between the generator shaft and the exciter shaft of a rotary electric machine of the type having a liquid-cooled rotor such as a turbine generator. Construction of the connection portion consists of; a junction portion between the generator shaft and the exciter shaft, a junction portion between a coolant path in the generator shaft and a coolant path in the exciter shaft, and a connection portion of electric circuits therein, which are located at places deviated in the axial direction, in order to enhance the reliability thereof.

  • Patent number: 4462152
Abstract: A method of winding and mounting superconductive coils on a cylindrical surface of the coil-carrying shaft of a rotor of a rotary electric machine. A superconductive wire is wound around the circumferential surface of a rectangular bobbin, thereby forming coils. The four straight portions of the circumferential surface are connected with each other by circularly curved surface portions. The portions of the circumferential surfaces corresponding to the axial direction of the coil-carrying shaft have a plurality of steps formed in the direction perpendicular to the axial direction of the coil-carrying shaft. A detachable side plate on the bobbin is then taken off, and the coil is removed from the bobbin.

  • Patent number: 4430589
Abstract: The rotor of a superconductive rotary electric machine has a coil-carrying shaft carrying superconductive field coils. A plurality of axially running parallel grooves and a pair of annular circumferentially running indentations, each of which is connected to one end of each of the grooves, are formed on the outer surface of the coil-carrying shaft. The axially and circumferentially running portions of the field coils are accommodated in the grooves and indentations respectively, and the spaces left by the circumferentially running portions of the field coils in the indentations are filled by electrically insulating fillers.

  • Patent number: 4358937
Abstract: A device for conducting cooling liquid in and out of liquid cooled rotor type machine such as an electric turbine generator. A discharging ring having small holes formed therein is disposed so as to cover an open end of an outflow pipe for cooling liquid from the rotor shaft. A first outlet chamber surrounds the open end of the outflow pipe to receive cooling liquid discharged through the discharging ring. A second outlet chamber having one end side integral with the first outlet chamber receives cooling liquid discharged through a seal between the first outlet chamber and the outflow pipe. Shielding gas is supplied into the first outlet chamber to maintain the pressure therein higher than atmospheric pressure. The first outlet chamber is only partially filled with cooling liquid.

  • Patent number: 4348029
Abstract: A seal-ring type shaft-sealing device for sealing a highly pressurized fluid such as gas and liquid has a seal ring whose inner circumference is previously formed ovally and is held so as to incline the longitudinal axis of the ellipse to the gravity force direction in the revolutional direction of the rotating shaft at an angle smaller than 90.degree. thus improving the floating characteristic and eliminating the irregular distribution in temperature during operation. The device can be used, for example, in a turbine generator.

  • Patent number: 4341093
Abstract: A device for conducting cooling liquid out of a liquid cooled rotor type rotary electric machine in which a sealing means is provided for preventing the leakage of cooling liquid from an outlet chamber adapted to receive the cooling liquid discharged from the rotary electric machine. The sealing means employs a thread seal and a rubber seal in combination. The rubber seal is provided in such a manner as to surround a cooling liquid supplying and draining pipe and so that it is expanded or contracted according to the pressure of gas introduced inside the rubber seal to adjust the gap between the rubber seal and the pipe. The pressure of gas is controlled according to the speed of rotation of the rotor shaft or the amount of liquid leakage.
