  • Publication number: 20050269930
Abstract: The radius of curvature of the outer surface of a panel is 10,000 mm or more, and a shadow mask is made of a material containing 95% or more of iron. A sagging amount change curve along a curve C1 on the surface of the shadow mask, which a plane passing through a center P0 of a useful area of the shadow mask and parallel to a tube axis and a major axis crosses, satisfies a particular Condition 1. Assuming that an intersection between the curve C1 and a useful area end of the shadow mask is a major axis end PL, a distance from the center P0 to the major axis end PL along a major axis is W, and a point on the curve C1 away from the center P0 by ?×W in the major axis direction is P1, a sagging amount change curve along a curve C2 on the surface of the shadow mask, which a plane passing through the point P1 and parallel to the tube axis and the minor axis crosses, satisfies a particular Condition 2.

  • Patent number: 6726365
Abstract: The disclosed invention relates to a foil type fluid bearing including a foil assembly. The foil assembly supports a journal within a stationary retaining member and includes a top foil that is disposed on the inside in the radial direction, three mid foil layers that are disposed outside the top foil, and corrugated bump foils disposed outside the mid foil layers. When the journal is radially displaced, a large frictional damping force is generated between the three mid foil layers, thereby enhancing the function of supporting the journal. Moreover, layering the three mid foil layers can increase the rigidity against a load in the radial direction, thus preventing the top foil from deforming in a wavelike manner and thereby allowing the function of the foil type fluid bearing to be reliably exhibited.

  • Publication number: 20030190306
Abstract: According to the present invention, HLA matching donor-originating activated lymphocytes highly effective in the treatment of patients with tumors, viral infections and autoimmune diseases are prepared by collecting cells contained in peripheral blood originating from an HLA matching donor or peripheral blood originating from an HLA matching donor achieving micro-chimerism and by stimulating and propagating the cells thus collected with, for instance, interleukin 2 and anti-CD3 antibodies or the like. The HLA matching donor-originating activated lymphocytes thus prepared can be administered to an HLA matching patient with a tumor, a viral infection or an autoimmune disease for therapeutic or preventive purposes.

  • Patent number: 6465945
Abstract: The outer surface of a panel effective section of a vacuum envelope is substantially flattened. A phosphor screen is formed on the inner surface of the effective section and includes stripe-shaped phosphor layers and light absorption layers arranged in parallel. The panel effective section is formed such that a corner portion is 8 mm to 15 mm thicker than the central portion and the transmittance of the central portion is set at 40% to 60%. The phosphor screen is formed such that the ratio of the width of a light absorption layer to the pitch of phosphor layers in the central portion of the panel effective section is larger than or equal to that in the peripheral portion thereof. A shadow mask is opposed to the phosphor screen and has a mask body in which a number of electron beam passage apertures are formed. The pitch of apertures formed in the peripheral portion of the mask body is 1.3 to 1.4 times as large as that of apertures formed in the central portion thereof.

  • Patent number: 6441545
Abstract: In a color cathode ray tube in which the external surface of an effective portion of a panel has a flat surface or a slight curvature, the shadow mask is set such that the layout distance between electron beam through hole array near the long side of an effective surface of the shadow mask is larger in the vicinity of the short axis than the layout distance at the center of the effective surface. Further, the layout distance becomes gradually smaller in direction away from the short axis, and thereafter, the layout distance changes to an increase. In the vicinity of the short side of the effective surface, the layout distance becomes equal to or larger than the layout distance near the short axis. Therefore, the curvature of the shadow mask and the electron beam through hole array are set in proper condition, and mislanding of beam landing due to deformation or oscillation of the shadow mask can be reduced. At the same time, howling of the phosphor screen can be minimized.
