  • Patent number: 6070063
Abstract: A transmitting apparatus which can suppress unnecessary power consumption. An optimal signal line is selected from a plurality of signal lines (53-56) having different gains provided by respective signal amplifying device to perform gain adjustment on a signal to be transmitted, which is supplied to an input terminal (58), so as to optimize power consumption of each signal amplifying device in accordance with a gain value, and to halt the operation of the signal amplifying device on a signal line which is not selected. Therefore, unnecessary power consumption can be suppressed.

  • Patent number: 5432779
Abstract: A time division multiplex transmitting/receiving system converts a signal to be transmitted into a signal having a predetermined frequency in a predetermined time slot, which is transmitted as a transmission signal, and receives a transmitted signal having a frequency different from the frequency of the transmitted signal at another time slot different from the time slot of the predetermined frequency, and for demodulating this received signal. The time division multiplex transmitting/receiving system includes a fixed oscillator, a variable oscillator, a mixer, a modulator, a converter, a frequency divider, and a demodulator. The fixed oscillator outputs a first signal having a constant frequency. The variable oscillator outputs a second signal having a predetermined frequency within a predetermined band range. The mixer mixes the first signal with the second signal. The modulator directly modulates a signal to be transmitted by employing the mixed signal.

  • Patent number: 5406225
Abstract: A bias control circuit for a radio-frequency power amplifier which performs linear power amplification of an intermittent radio-frequency signal. The control circuit includes a bias voltage setting circuit for supplying a bias voltage of a predetermined value to a power amplifying element during a time period in which substantially none of the radio-frequency signal is supplied to the power amplifying element, and for setting the idle current of the power amplifying element to a predetermined value. The control circuit further includes a sample and hold circuit for sampling and holding the bias voltage during the time period in which substantially none of the radio-frequency signal is supplied to the power amplifying element.

  • Patent number: 5193218
Abstract: A signal switching apparatus for switching between a 1/4 wavelength transmission line, which transmits a transmission signal, and a 1/4 wavelength reception line, which receives a reception signal, which share a common antenna. The apparatus sets the characteristic impedance of one of the 1/4 wavelength lines to be zero while the other 1/4 wavelength lines is set to infinity so that the switching operation can be effected without passing the transmission and reception signals through semiconductor switches.

  • Patent number: 4819272
Abstract: An intermittently driven transmitter having high power output which is driven intermittently so as to transmit a signal via, for example, a satellite in which the voltage supplied to the transmitter is boosted and supplied to a capacitor. When the signal is to be transmitted, the voltage stored on the capacitor is supplied to a constant voltage circuit which generates a constant voltage which is higher than the voltage supplied to the transmitter and which is supplied to a power amplifier in the final stage of the transmitter and, thus, the intermittent type transmitter with a suitable battery drive system is obtained.
