  • Patent number: 10976680
Abstract: In an image forming apparatus, a bias controller varies one, while keeping the other fixed, of a charging alternating-current frequency, which is the frequency of the charging alternating-current voltage, and a developing alternating-current frequency, which is the frequency of the developing alternating-current voltage. Specifically, in a case where interference fringes appear in a developed image due to interference between the charging and developing alternating-current frequencies, when the recognizable minimum pitch of the interference fringes is A1 (mm), the width of the variation region of the other frequency is B1 (Hz), the rotation speed of an image carrying member is C1 (mm/sec), and the variation speed of the other frequency in the variation region is D1 (Hz/sec), the bias controller varies the other frequency at a variation speed D1 that fulfills |D1|>B1/(A1/C1).

  • Patent number: 10979580
Abstract: An image processing apparatus includes a storage device, an image reading device, a complementary image storage device, and a control device. The complementary image storage device stores a complementary image for complementing an incomplete two-dimensional code. The control device includes a processor and functions, through the processor executing a control program, as a detector, a synthesizer, and an analyzer. The detector detects, from the image obtained through the reading of the image reading device, the incomplete two-dimensional code. The synthesizer synthesizes the incomplete two-dimensional code detected by the detector and the complementary image stored in the complementary image storage device to generate a complete two-dimensional code. The analyzer analyzes the complete two-dimensional code generated by the synthesizer and activates an extension function.

  • Patent number: 10901339
Abstract: An image forming apparatus has a bias controller. The bias controller varies both a charging alternating-current frequency, which is the frequency of a charging alternating-current voltage, and a developing alternating-current frequency, which is the frequency of the developing alternating-current voltage. When the region of the charging and developing alternating-current frequencies in which interference fringes appear in a developed image due to interference between the charging and developing alternating-current frequencies is taken as a variation region and the variation speeds of the charging and developing alternating-current frequencies in the variation region are taken as a first and a second variation speed respectively, the bias controller varies the charging and developing alternating-current frequencies such that one of the first and second variation speeds is a positive-number multiple of the other.

  • Patent number: 10222720
Abstract: In an image forming apparatus, a seal member is a non-conductive, flexible member supported by a developing device. The seal member is formed to project from an edge part of the developing device that faces an image carrying member, along a longitudinal direction of the image carrying member. The seal member fills a part of a gap between the developing device and an outer circumferential surface of the image carrying member. An electrode film is adhered to a surface of the seal member. The electrode film is a conductive film. A potential detecting device detects a potential of the electrode film. A charging controller controls a charging voltage based on a result of comparison between a predetermined reference potential and the potential detected by the potential detecting device.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes an image carrying member, a driving device, a charging member, a cleaning member, a voltage applying device, a braking distance detector, a storage for storing a predetermined braking distance value Lc, and a control portion.
