    Abstract: A signature-delivery-pitch regulating apparatus includes a grip mechanism adapted to grip a signature received in a rotating delivery fan, push the signature out of the delivery fan, and then release the signature on the transport conveyer operating at a speed slower than the moving speed of the grip mechanism. The grip mechanism includes at least one endless chain in meshing engagement with at least a first sprocket and a second sprocket. The first sprocket rotates at a position within a rotation locus of bottoms of signature receiving spaces of the delivery fan and in the vicinity of a region where the delivery fan comes close to the transport conveyer. The second sprocket has an outer circumference located outside the rotation region of the delivery fan. The endless chain can travel along the transport direction of the transport conveyer from a position inside the rotation region of the delivery fan to a position outside the rotation region of the delivery fan.

    Abstract: A guide roller for a printing press is designed to prevent foreign matters, such as ink or so forth from adhering on the peripheral surface thereof and to sweep up the peripheral surface by a traveling web. The guide roller comprises a roller body having a peripheral surface to contact with a traveling web. The roller body incorporates a first peripheral surface for converting the traveling speed of the web into a first rotational speed and a second peripheral surface having a different geometry to the first peripheral surface for converting the traveling speed of the web into a second rotational speed, the second peripheral surface being cooperative with the first peripheral surface for interacting the second rotational speed with the first rotational speed for determining a rotational speed of the guide roller so that the peripheral speed of the guide roller is differentiated from the traveling speed of the web.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to an ink supplying device adapted for a rotary press used for printing news papers. More particularly, the present invention relates to an ink supplying device comprising an inking cylinder, an ink feeding means for feeding ink to the inking cylinder, and an ink temperature control means for controlling the temperature of the ink to be fed to the inking cylinder within the optimum range.The temperature control means comprises a medium circulating unit including a medium chamber, a medium temperature detecting unit, a heater and a cooler; a heat exchanger; a pipe system for circulating between the medium circulating unit and the heat exchanger; and an ink temperature detecting unit.The heat exchanger is preferably selected from plate type heat exchangers.This system allows that the ink temperature is quickly adjusted to the optimum range for printing work and further always maintained within the optimum range during its printing work.

    Abstract: A device for removing water from the returning portion of the peripheral surface of a meshed roll mounted in a planographic printing press comprises at least one roll for removing water pressed against the said returning portion. The peripheral surface of the roll is made of soft and smoothed material, or brushes project to the centrifugal direction from the peripheral surface of the roll. In one embodiment, a smooth roll of rubber or soft resin presses against the meshed roll, a second smooth roll of metal contacts it, a blade scrapes the second roll and a container receives recovered water from the blade.
