  • Patent number: 8677976
Abstract: A high pressure fuel pump (20) that pressurizes and supplies a fuel by driving a cam (21) such that a plunger (23) reciprocates, the high pressure fuel pump (20) comprises a lifter guide (25) having a guide hole (25A), a lifter (22) that is disposed between the cam (21) and the plunger (23) and is fitted into the guide hole (25A) to be free to slide so as to transmit a driving force from the cam (21) to the plunger (23), an oil collection portion (27) that is provided above the guide hole (25A) so as to surround a periphery of the lifter (22), and stores a lubricating oil for lubricating a sliding portion between the lifter (22) and the guide hole (25A), and an oil supply passage (25C) for supplying the lubricating oil to the oil collection portion (27). As a result, a reduction in a lubricating performance with regard to the lifter (22) in a position away from an opening portion of the oil supply passage (25C) is suppressed.

  • Patent number: 7946939
Abstract: A sprocket (3A, 3B) is fixed onto a crank shaft (2) projecting outward from a cylinder block (1) of an internal combustion engine (100). A timing chain (7A, 7B) is looped around the sprocket (3A, 3B). A slippage prevention mechanism (10) which prevents slippage of the timing chain (7A, 7B) with respect to the sprocket (3A, 3B) comprises an arm (10C) extending from a base portion (10A) fixed to the cylinder block. A slippage prevention rail (10B) in the form of an arc-shaped recess is formed on the arm (10C) so as to face the engaging part between the sprocket (3A, 3B) and the timing chain (7A, 7B) with a clearance smaller than the height of a tooth of the sprocket (3A, 3B) therebetween. The slippage prevention rail (10B) thus constructed does not interfere with other members fixed onto the crank shaft (2).

  • Patent number: 7765989
Abstract: A fuel-pump-driving device (20) drives a plunger (31) of a fuel pump (30) to perform a reciprocating motion to supply fuel to an internal combustion engine. The fuel-pump-driving device (20) comprises a cam (27) that drives the plunger (31) according to the rotation of a fuel-pump-driving sprocket (26). The fuel-pump-driving sprocket (26) meshes with a chain (7A) which travels between a crank sprocket (3) and a valve-driving sprocket (5A) of the engine. Since the fuel-pump-driving sprocket (26) can be located in a position detached from the valve-driving sprocket (5A), the fuel-pump-driving device (20) has greater freedom of layout and the fuel pump (30) exhibits a better performance than in a case where the plunger (31) is driven by a cam that is fixed directly to the cam shaft (5) of the valve-driving sprocket (5A).

  • Patent number: 7213845
Abstract: A tube joint comprises a retaining mechanism which retains the locked state by preventing a sleeve from any rotation in the circumferential direction which would be otherwise caused by any unexpected external force. The retaining mechanism includes a ratchet which is provided to surround the outer circumferential surface of a socket body and which is rotatable synchronously with the sleeve, and a coil spring which is interposed between the sleeve and the ratchet and which makes an urging action to cause mutual separation under an action of the spring force.
