  • Publication number: 20120248999
Abstract: According to one embodiment, a switching power-supply device includes a switching element, a constant current element, a rectifying element, first and second inductors, and a constant voltage circuit. The switching element supplies, when the switching element is on, a power-supply voltage of a direct-current power supply to and feeds an electric current to the first inductor. The constant current element is connected to the switching element in series and turns off the switching element when the electric current of the switching element exceeds a predetermined current value. The rectifying element is connected to any one of the switching element and the constant current element in series. The second inductor is magnetically coupled to the first inductor and supplies induced potential to a control terminal of the switching element. The constant voltage circuit applies control potential to a control terminal of the constant current element.

Abstract: According to one embodiment of the invention, there is provided a switching power supply device including a rectifying circuit and a switching operation conversion circuit. The rectifying circuit receives a phase-controlled alternating voltage to rectify to a direct voltage. The switching operation conversion circuit starts up by being applied with the direct voltage, and includes a normally on type switching element and an off driving circuit. The normally on type switching element passes an input current, and the off driving circuit turns off the switching element when the input current reaches a prescribed value. The switching operation conversion circuit converts the direct voltage to an output voltage different from the direct voltage by repeating a switching operation of turning on and off the switching element.

  • Publication number: 20090134813
Abstract: The inverter circuit is feedback-controlled by a substantial current flowing into the discharge lamp, which is detected by the current detecting means. A high starting voltage is supplied to the discharge lamp with the operation frequency lowered by the control circuit after the end of a preheating action. The inverter circuit is controlled so that the current of the discharge lamp becomes a desired current value as soon as the current detecting means detects the current substantially flowing into the discharge lamp. The discharge lamp can be prevented from being instantaneously brightly lit without separately providing any structure for detecting lighting of the discharge lamp.

  • Patent number: 6414447
Abstract: A combination-type high frequency inverter connects an isolation leakage transformer, a smoothing condenser, a resonance condenser, a first field-effect transistor and a second field-effect transistor to a diode bridge and rectifies the voltage of an AC power source in a non-smoothing rectification manner. A load circuit has a secondary winding of an isolation leakage transformer, a fluorescent lamp and a condenser. The ‘on’ duration of the first field-effect transistor is variable. The duration of on-duty of the second field-effect transistor is fixed. Adjusting charge voltage on the smoothing condenser changes the high frequency output voltage and the load characteristics. Load characteristics, optimal for the current mode, are given to the fluorescent lamp, in accordance with whether the flourescent lamp is in either start-up or luminance mode.
