  • Patent number: 7869532
Abstract: A cellular communication system employs a plurality of bandwidths. The cellular communication system comprises a plurality of base stations (101, 103) each of which transmits a reference signal comprising a Generalised Chirp-Like, GCL, sequence. The length of the GCL sequence is dependent on the bandwidth employed by the base station (101, 103). A sequence generator (105) provides a first subset of GCL sequences for a first bandwidth selected from a set of possible GCL sequences for the first bandwidth in response to properties of a sub-sequence of GCL sequences. The sub-sequence has a length corresponding to a different bandwidth. Sequence processors (107, 109) select GCL sequences for base stations (101, 103) employing the first bandwidth from the first subset of GCL sequences. The invention exploits characteristics of GCL sequences to enable, facilitate or improve multiple bandwidth operation.

  • Patent number: 7409606
Abstract: A method and system for interleaving in a parallel turbo decoder enables the use of economical dual-port memory. According to the method, an incoming coding block is divided into a plurality of sub-blocks (step 1005). Each sub-block is divided into a plurality of windows (step 1010). An inter-window shuffle is then performed within each sub-block (step 1015). Each window is divided into two sub-windows (step 1020). Then an intra-window permutation is performed within each sub-window (step 1025).

Abstract: A session control method for radio terminals that implements a Multimedia Integrated network by Radio Access Innovation (MIRAI) such that selection of a radio access network does not impose a burden on each of the radio access networks, and an interface setup method for setting up IP connection quickly during switching of the radio access network. The Multimedia Integrated network by Radio Access Innovation (MIRAI) 10 includes heterogeneous radio access networks 11, Internet 12, and multimode radio terminals 13, and the heterogeneous radio access networks 11 includes a PHS network 11a, a wireless LAN 11b, a paging network 11c, and a cellular phone network 11d. The Internet 12 includes a CCN server 12a, which sends session-related information to the radio terminal 13 via the paging network 11c. The radio terminal 13 selects a radio IF and application that are appropriate for communication based on the session-related information, and establishes a session.

  • Publication number: 20050201498
Abstract: A compact narrow band interference suppressor. The narrow band interference suppressor includes a plurality of interference signal elimination circuits, a frequency compensation circuit, an AGC amp, and an AD converter that are connected in series. Each interference signal elimination circuit includes a mixer for synthesizing a local oscillation signal of a variable frequency oscillator to eliminate an interference signal with a band elimination filter. The frequency compensation circuit includes a mixer for synthesizing a signal having a frequency generated by the variable frequency oscillator to restore the signal to the frequency band of the signal input to the narrow band interference suppressor by the variable frequency oscillator. The AD converter converts the polarity of the signal in accordance with the number of times the signal passes through the mixer.
