  • Patent number: 5027196
Abstract: An images simulator (20) comprises a storage unit 31 for storing reference image data by which reference image of proper color and gradation are reproduced in printing process. Original image data (I (B, G, R)) are read by an image reading unit (11) and processed by an image processing unit (13) under reproduction conditions set in a condition setting unit (12). A proof image is displayed on a CRT (30) along with the reference image as a function of the original image data and the reference image data, respectively. An operator adjusts the reproduction conditions such that color and gradation of the proof image conform to those of the reference image.

  • Patent number: 4912568
Abstract: Apparatus is provided for recording halftone dot images on a photosensitive material by emitting a light beam which is modulated in accordance with digital image data. In a screen pattern memory (23), screen pattern data provided with a value for each element area which is smaller than a light spot diameter of a light beam on a surface of a photosensitive material is stored. The level of a screen pattern signal obtained from the screen pattern data and that of an image signal obtained from digital image data are compared in a comparator (22). An intensity of the light beam is modulated according to a result of comparison in the comparator (22). Because the screen pattern signal is given as a high density signal, the light beam is modulated in each element area which is smaller than a light spot diameter.

  • Patent number: 4829584
Abstract: Optical image data read by a photoelectric converter are converted into N-bit digital signals through A-D converter, which are inputted in a look-up table memory as address data. The memory stores M-bit digital data which are linearly dependent on optical density of the image. Thus, the N-bit digital signals are transformed to the M-bits digital signals and a reproduced image obtained as an output of the memory has a optical density which is corresponding to that of the original image.

  • Patent number: 4807045
Abstract: A white reference density plate and a black reference density plate are provided in the vicinity of an original. A linear image sensor reads respective optical density of the white reference density plate and of the black reference density plate, whereby reference level data are fetched in an image data processing apparatus. The reference level data are subtracted from image data of the original for eliminating background components from the image data, so that new image data are obtained.

  • Patent number: 4680642
Abstract: An original divided in a plurality of regions is photoelectrically scanned and its reproduction is then recorded. Signals from a plurality of photodetectors arranged to detect each desired common region of the original in accordance with a signal representing its corresponding scanning position and its corresponding signal stored in advance in a memory device are selectively switched over and output to the recording side in accordance with sequential scanning of the plurality of regions in the original. The above method assures high productivity without need for special skill or expensive facilities.

  • Patent number: 4633328
Abstract: The picture scanning and recording method of this invention permits the simplification of the manner of designation and input for the processing of picture pattern regions and line picture regions and the simplification of the processing circuit. The original picture is classified into plural types of regions, e.g., picture pattern regions, border tint regions, line picture regions, line picture tint regions or into a plurality of picture pattern regions of the same type. The preference of overlapped areas of the thus-classified regions are ranked. Based on such ranking, a picture image signal corresponding to the region having the highest ranking is selected in each of such overlapped areas.

  • Patent number: 4566041
Abstract: A sensory area of an imaging face composed of multiple photo-diodes arranged in a matrix is determined, without using a conventional slit, by selectively turning some of said photo-diodes on. The size of the sensory area is a function of the number of continuous photo-diodes that are turned on.
