Patents by Inventor Norm R. Warpinski

Norm R. Warpinski has filed for patents to protect the following inventions. This listing includes patent applications that are pending as well as patents that have already been granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

  • Publication number: 20180275297
Abstract: A source of acoustic energy for a downhole environment can include a motor and a mechanical energy storage device. The mechanical energy storage device may be for storing a preset amount of torque generated by the motor. The source can also include a rigid body moveable between a retracted position and an extended position by the mechanical energy storage device. The rigid body may be for releasing the acoustic energy into the downhole environment in response to the mechanical energy storage device releasing the preset amount of torque generated by the motor and moving the rigid body to the extended position.

  • Patent number: 9726157
Abstract: The present invention relates to systems and methods of intelligently extracting heat from geothermal reservoirs. One geothermal well system includes at least one injection well extending to a subterranean formation and configured to inject a working fluid into the subterranean formation to generate a heated working fluid. At least one production well extends to the subterranean formation and produces the heated working fluid from the subterranean formation. A production zone defines a plurality of production sub-zones within the subterranean formation and provides fluid communication between the at least one injection well and the at least one production well. Each production sub-zone is selectively accessed in order to extract heated working fluid therefrom and thereby provide a steady supply of heated working fluid to the surface.

  • Publication number: 20110277996
Abstract: Some aspects of the present disclosure include monitoring fluid flow in a subterranean reservoir. In some implementations, a sealant mixture is injected into a subterranean reservoir to form a flow barrier in the subterranean reservoir. The sealant mixture includes a sealant material and a tracer. The tracer may be stored in the flow barrier, and the tracer may be displaced from the flow barrier, for example, by fluid flow in the subterranean reservoir. The displaced tracer may be detected, for example, in fluid produced into a well bore in the subterranean reservoir. Fluid flow in the subterranean reservoir may be analyzed based on detection of the tracer.
