  • Patent number: 7328943
Abstract: An adjustable storage seat for recreation and utility vehicles is disclosed. The adjustable storage seat may be used for snowmobiles, watercraft, all-terrain vehicles, or other similar small vehicle intended for entertainment and transportation. The adjustable storage seat comprises a cushion mounted over a frame which is attached to the chassis of the vehicle. The seat is provided with an adjustable backrest which can be adjusted forward or backward in increments to increase the comfort of the rider when a button on the seat is pushed, but otherwise remains fixed in place. The adjustable backrest can also be removed from the seat to reveal a storage compartment after turning it 90 degrees. The seat may be provided with a lock to secure the storage compartment. Additional embodiments of the adjustable storage seat are convertible for one or two person use, and may be provided with internal storage or item racks.

  • Publication number: 20060032686
Abstract: A suspension support spindle for a recreational vehicle that is lightweight, strong, and that improves aerodynamic performance by reducing friction and drag. An extruded spindle design for use in a front suspension system of a snowmobile, using aluminum as the extrusion material and performing the extrusion along an axis that is generally parallel to a forward direction of travel of the snowmobile. A method of manufacturing an extruded snowmobile suspension spindle.

  • Patent number: 6474150
Abstract: A testing device for conducting the Initial Terminal Inspection of the air brake system of a made-up train includes a first valve assembly for at least charging and applying the brakes through the test device operable from the location at which the device is coupled between the train brake pipe and a supply of compressed air, and it also includes a second valve assembly for releasing the brakes actuated by receipt of a remotely-transmitted signal. The Initial Terminal Inspection requires that the brakes of a train be inspected in both their applied and their released positions. A testing device is normally connected to the train brake pipe at the locomotive end. The inspection of the brakes in their applied position requires the inspector to walk the length of the train, usually from the locomotive end to the far end of the train. This can be a distance of a half mile or a mile or more.

  • Patent number: 5572931
Abstract: An integrally cast bearing adapter arrangement is provided in the pedestal of a railcar truck side frame, which side frame is cast with a pedestal jaw having a roof, and vertical walls of a first and second leg which roof and walls operate as a bearing adapter to receive a bearing assembly for an axle end without introducing the manufacturing and assembly tolerances from discrete component assemblies, thereby avoiding the lateral displacement associated with the added tolerances and operating to minimize angular displacement between each mated axle and side frame.

  • Patent number: 5509358
Abstract: A railcar truck side frame has a pedestal jaw arrangement, which inclines the bearing adapter for the axle and bearing assembly with a relative slope in the side-frame longitudinal direction, to provide transfer of the forces causing angular displacement of the axle to stop lugs on the side-frame outer surface and to minimize axle angular displacement and, consequently, truck warping and hunting.

  • Patent number: 4537304
Abstract: A railway coupler yoke assembly is provided. A yoke, draft gear and follower are assembled as a unit assembly and maintained as such by the installation of bands at various locations about the assembly. Such yoke assembly can then be shipped and stored as an assembly until the time of installation in a railway car. At such time, the bands are cut and the assembly is placed in the railway car.
