  • Patent number: 8511953
Abstract: A system includes a nut plate and a polymer sleeve passing through the nut plate. The polymer sleeve contains adhesive for attachment of the nut plate to a substrate. The interior of the sleeve includes an epoxy and a catalyzing agent initially separated from one another, but mixed by kneading the sleeve. A portion of the sleeve can be used to apply the adhesive to a bottom surface of the nut plate.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 22, 2009
Date of Patent: August 20, 2013
    Assignee: Rolls-Royce Corporation
Inventors: Patrick Roosa, Norman Austin, Edward Claude Rice

  • Patent number: 8397774
Abstract: An axle assembly includes a non-rotating component and a wheel hub supported for rotation relative to the non-rotating component about an axis. The wheel hub includes a hub air passage that has a hub inlet and a hub outlet to be fluidly connected to at least one tire. An air chamber is formed at least in part between the non-rotating component and the wheel hub. The air chamber receives air flow from an air source and directs air flow into the hub inlet. A seal assembly engages the wheel hub to seal the air chamber.

  • Patent number: 6212295
Abstract: A method is provided for reconstructing data generated on a digitizer tablet based on the dynamics of the data generation. The digitizer tablet samples the position of the writing pen, continuously transmitting data to a computer in the form of x and y coordinates plus an indicator of whether or not the pen is touching the surface of the tablet. After preprocessing, the data is reconstructed based on the dynamics of the data's creation. The values of the dynamic reconstruction are created by accumulating increments that are some function of the original data. To enhance the dynamics a nonlinear function is required.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: April 3, 2001
    Assignee: Communication Intelligence Corporation
Inventors: John S. Ostrem, Norman A. Austin, Hewitt D. Crane
