  • Patent number: 5680731
Abstract: An apparatus for accommodating level placement of a portable building on a support surface includes a foundation leg movable relative to the building and adjustable from inside the building. The length of the foundation leg which extends below the building to the support surface is determined by selectively engaging a bracket in slots in the foundation leg. An adjusting plate is coupled to the bracket and a threaded member is coupled with the adjusting plate. When the bracket engages a slot, the threaded member may be manually adjusted to raise and lower the foundation leg. A portable building adapted for level placement on a support surface may include a plurality of foundation legs and a corresponding number of locking devices for raising and lowering the foundation legs relative to the floor of the building. Each locking device includes a bracket, an adjusting plate and a manually operable member coupled with the adjusting plate.

  • Patent number: 5634397
Abstract: An improved egg washing, breaking and separating system is constructed of two side-by-side washers feeding a corresponding pair of candlers. From the candlers, a respective pair of conveyor transition ramps lead to corresponding ones of a pair of stacked upper and lower egg breaker/separator units. Each egg breaker/separator unit includes an endless chain of a plurality of individual egg cracker/separator cup assemblies with the upper chain independently driven about a four sided frame, preferably in opposition to the lower chain. Eggs are shuttled into the cup assemblies from each of the conveyor transition ramps. The chains of cracker/separator cup assemblies ride via slides operating within tracks extending about the frame. Each washer allows rows of eggs to advance along an egg conveyor which travels beneath a plurality of endless chains of brushes as well as a cleaning water distribution manifold.

  • Patent number: 5277320
Abstract: An improved shell egg culling system includes a conveying system having sites for conveying shell eggs, an illuminator together with a video camera in conjunction with a computer having a first algorithm and a second algorithm for determining which of the sites contain shell eggs having broken shells and which contain shell eggs having soiled shells, a plurality of bridges in side-by-side relationship which are controlled by the computer to remove shell eggs having broken shells from the conveying system for discarding, and a platform having a plurality of downwardly directed, suction-activated lifters which are controlled by the computer to remove shell eggs having soiled shells from the conveying system for recycling through a washer.
