  • Patent number: 5984850
Abstract: An apparatus for manufacturing gusseted bulk bag liners having a continuous web of gusseted bulk bag liner material, wherein the continuous web is advanced along a predetermined path, includes four simultaneous cutting and resealing apparatus that engage longitudinally extending fold lines of the continuous web during the movement of the web. The simultaneous cutting and sealing apparatuses are moved transversely to the direction of movement of the web of gusseted bulk bag liner material in accordance with a predetermined program, thereby forming a gusseted bulk bag liner comprising a sidewall, a top wall, a bottom, an inlet chute and discharge chute.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 4, 1998
Date of Patent: November 16, 1999
    Assignee: Super Sack Mfg. Corp.

  • Patent number: 5647832
Abstract: An apparatus for manufacturing a liner having baffles therein for use inside of a flexible bulk container, having a frame supporting a first feed means mounted adjacent to a feed path for feeding a sheet of liner material over the feed path at a first speed. A second feed means is mounted adjacent the feed path between the first feed means and a finishing end of the feed path for feeding a length of ribbon material over the feed path adjacent the sheet of liner material at a second speed. An attachment means is mounted adjacent the feed path for attaching the fed ribbon material to the fed sheet of liner material at spaced apart intervals. A cutter is mounted adjacent the feed path and between the attachment means and the finishing end for cutting a predetermined length of liner material having first and second ends. A folder folds the cut length of liner material in half along a fold line perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of an attached length of ribbon, such that the ribbon is inside of the fold.

  • Patent number: 5618254
Abstract: In a method of manufacturing gusseted bulk bag liners, a continuous web of gusseted bulk bag liner material having longitudinally extending fold line is advanced along a predetermined path. Simultaneous cutting and resealing apparatus are engaged with the longitudinally extending fold lines of the length of gusseted bulk bag liner material during the movement thereof. The simultaneous cutting and resealing apparatus are positioned transversely to the direction of movement of the continuous web of gusseted bulk bag liner material in accordance with a predetermined program, thereby forming a gusseted bulk bag liner having a predetermined comprising a sidewall, a top wall, a bottom, an inlet chute and discharge chute.

  • Patent number: 5618255
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a liner having baffles therein for use in flexible bulk containers, having the steps of: positioning a baffle strip of thermoplastic material adjacent to a continuous sheet of thermoplastic film; heat sealing the baffle strip to the continuous sheet of film at spaced apart intervals; alternately varying the length of continuous sheet film adjacent to the length of baffle strip material between adjacent heat seals to form pockets of excess continuous sheet film between alternating pairs of heat seals; cutting the continuous sheet to a length substantially equal in length to the circumference of the flexible bulk container and; folding the continuous film sheet in half with the attached baffle strip on the inside of the fold and with the fold extending perpendicular to the length of baffle strip; and heat sealing the ends opposite the fold to form a tubular shaped liner with the pockets of the excess film sheet forming corners therein.

  • Patent number: 5531252
Abstract: A vacuum fill system for deaerating flowable materials includes a hollow container connected to a plurality of valves, slide gate valves and a vacuum pump for creating a vacuum when filled with flowable materials that causes the flowable materials to deaerate and subsequently compact when atmospheric pressure is restored.
