  • Patent number: 8653377
Abstract: Embodiments enable for the creation of microelectronic modules that may be configured in any order within a microelectronic assembly. The microelectronic modules provide for point-to-point interconnects between the modules using a standardized connector that is the same for each module. This, thereby, eliminates the need for a backplane. The modules may be configured in any order within a microelectronic assembly. No prior knowledge regarding the functions of an individual microelectronic module is required if the microelectronic modules conform to the standardized I/O of the standardized connector.

  • Patent number: 6774828
Abstract: Conversion errors of the prior art are reduced by a piece wise linear analog to digital converter. The analog to digital (A/D) converter operates between a minimum voltage and a maximum voltage and uses one or more comparators to generate one or more digital bits, each of the digital bits representative of a conversion voltage. A first voltage interval is allocated for linear analog to digital conversion. This first voltage interval extends from the minimum voltage to an intermediate voltage, where the intermediate voltage is less than the maximum voltage. A second voltage interval extends from the intermediate voltage to the maximum voltage. An error correcting band is encoded in the analog signal between the first voltage interval and the second voltage interval. Each of the comparators used in the A/D has a sensing level. The error correcting band is centered with respect to one of the sensing levels, the sensing level located at the intermediate voltage.

  • Patent number: 5802693
Abstract: A refuse container adapted for automated dumping operation comprises a pair of side-by-side container bodies joined along a portion of their respective rims by a connecting web and rigidly integrated with one another by upper and lower lifter bars affixed transversely to each container body in disposition to be engageable by grasping members of an automated dumping apparatus. The refuse container is advantageously fabricated by a method wherein a unitary hollow container structure is blow molded to initially form the two container bodies in tandem end-to-end mirror-image relation joined by a continuous annular connecting portion. The connecting portion is partially removed at each rim, leaving the connecting web therebetween, whereby the two container bodies may be pivoted into side-by-side relation and rigidly joined by affixation of the upper and lower lifter bars. A hinged lid may be pivotably connected to the container proximate the connecting web. The lid will selectively cover either container body.

  • Patent number: 5465844
Abstract: A wheeled refuse container adapted to be nestable with like containers for storage and shipment comprises a container body having a closed lower end and an open upper end providing access to an interior refuse-receiving area. A pair of wheels are mounted to the container body rearwardly adjacent its lower end by a pivoting axle assembly for selective movement of the wheels between a retracted position, wherein the wheels do not interfere with nested insertion of the lower end of the container body into a like container, and an operable position, wherein the wheels are disposed laterally outwardly of the container body for stable rotational rolling support thereof.

  • Patent number: 5251780
Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed for collection of refuse comprising a container body defining an interior receiving area and having a first end defining an access opening into the interior receiving area. A second end of the container body is closed and has a region which is exposed to excessive wear during use. The container also has at least one wear resistent element removably and replaceably attached to the container body over at least a portion of the wear region to form a primary wear surface, thereby protecting the wear region and extending the useful life of the apparatus. The wear resistent element may be formed of plastic and may be a glass filled nylon plastic. The second end of the container body may have a corner with the wear region comprising the corner. The wear resistent element may be attached to the container body adjacent the corner.

  • Patent number: 5163577
Abstract: An apparatus for the collection of refuse including a wheeled container having an interior compartment which can be covered by a removable lid, the lid being held in place by pivoting handles, the handles being limited in their pivoting movement by stop members for enhanced control during tipping and rolling movement of the container.

  • Patent number: 5026268
Abstract: Blow molding apparatus for producing an article including compression rings or other compression molded areas utilizes mold halves each having multiple mold sections connected in end-to-end relation by a series of guide rods having end stops to permit limited movement of the mold sections toward and away from one another. With the present control rod arrangement, only a single actuating arrangement is necessary to accomplish the formation of multiple compression molded areas.

  • Patent number: 4969813
Abstract: A nestable plastic trash container having integrally bonded upper and lower plastic lifter bar members for automated dumping operation by conventional semi-automatic dumping apparatus is fabricated by initially preforming the lifter bar members by blow molding, inserting the preformed lifter bar members into respective recesses in another blow mold apparatus for forming the main body of the container, and then blow molding the main container body while simultaneously bonding it to the preformed lifter bar members. The insert-receiving recesses of the container body blow mold apparatus and the preformed lifter bar members respectively have compatible end-to-end convex arcuate surfaces which abut in sealing relation during the blow molding of the container body to prevent escape of the plastic material into the insert-receiving recesses.

  • Patent number: 4878592
Abstract: A refuse collection apparatus for segregation of recyclable materials and the like includes an outer container body which receives a plurality of inner complimentary receptacle units. Each receptacle unit includes recessed handle members at the upper edge thereof to facilitate removal from the outer container and a lower handle portion at the opposite end of the unit for convenient carrying and dumping of the unit. In one embodiment, a wire support frame is fitted within the rim of the outer container body to support lip portions of the receptacle units. In another embodiment, a receptacle tray is provided to rest within the container body on the receptacle units for collecting stackable recyclable materials such as newspaper, while only partially covering the access openings to the receptacle units for permitting deposit of refuse therein without removing the tray.

  • Patent number: 4715144
Abstract: A plant container with concavoconvex ribs for growing plants and the like which is characterized by its ability to easily prevent the soil medium in the container from collapsing into a hole which has been mechanically drilled into the soil medium in order that a plant may be inserted into the medium, by its ability to be easily nested, by its ability to be efficiently and comfortably handled, and by its ability to be easily drained with maintenance of an optimum water level. The plant container is readily adaptable for use with a variety of plants and includes a frusto conical body made of molded plastic and has a rim portion at the top and a base portion at the bottom. The sidewalls of the container consist substantially of concavoconvex ribs that are concave on the inside sidewall and convex on the outside sidewall. Additionally, the bottom of the plant container contains one or more channels that extend radially across the bottom of the plant container.
