  • Patent number: 4566872
Abstract: The driving tension of a drive belt is maintained by axial force components applied to a pair of adjustable diameter pulleys about which the drive belt is entrained. A spring force is divided into such force components under control of relative torque loadings applied to the pulleys through drive shafts thereby also establishing a drive ratio that is automatically varied by relative adjustment of the pulley diameters.

  • Patent number: 4215850
Abstract: A winch includes a direct current reversible motor operable to drive a gear train to wind or unwind cable from a drum and also includes first and second clutch mechanisms in the gear train that provide respectively (1) internal loading of the winch to prohibit undesirable unwinding of cable and (2) infinite clutch control between free wheeling operation and direct gear train drive of the winch. The first clutch mechanism is a sprag clutch which is operated against a brake load built into the winch. The second clutch mechanism includes clutch plates which are engaged proportional to the force of a thrust bearing controlled by a manually operated handle.

  • Patent number: 4109869
Abstract: An improved oiler includes a manually operated pump mechanism retained within the oiler container for pumping low viscosity oil and similar low viscosity fluids through a spout of the oiler for discharge by an adjustable spray nozzle. The nozzle is comprised of four separate interengaging parts including a compression fitting which contains a nozzle disc and a channel member. By rotating the compression fitting, physical separation of the disc and channel member is controlled and the pattern of spray through the nozzle is adjusted between a fine spray and a fine stream.

  • Patent number: 3948488
Abstract: The mounting means of this invention is specifically adapted for mounting a power winch, adapted to raise and lower a boat anchor, at any one of a large variety of locations on the boat. The design of the mounting means permits the anchor winch to be mounted in almost any desired location on the boat by means of an L-shaped mounting bracket which cooperates with a reel mounting bracket and projecting means connecting the reel mounting bracket to the L-shaped mounting bracket.

  • Patent number: 3939793
Abstract: An anchor bracket and cleat includes spaced rings attached to a pair of parallel rods and inclined in opposite directions to define a cleat. An annular horn shaped collar member is attached to extensions from the rods and serves as an anchor bracket particularly useful in combination with a mushroom anchor.

  • Patent number: 3939729
Abstract: The present invention is related to an improvement in a double-acting ratchet and pawl for controlling the operation of a hand winch. The pawl is pivotally mounted and engageable in two different positions with a driving gear which in turn is engaged with a driven gear operably connected to a winch reel. The improvement of this invention is primarily related to the pawl design and mounting and operation means therefor. With the design of the present invention, the pawl may be pivoted into any one of three principal locations corresponding to forward winch drive, reverse winch drive, and free-running winch drive. A latch plate holds the pawl fixedly in the desired position. A handle is provided for operating the pawl and a spring compressed against the handle operably holds the pawl against the latch plate. The pawl and the handle are pivotally connected on a shaft and mounted pivotally with respect to one another. A coiled spring connects the handle to the pawl for moving the pawl when the handle is operated.
