  • Patent number: 4622035
Abstract: A boot is provided for the therapeutic or cosmetic treatment of the human foot. The boot has an impervious outer covering and includes a medicament supply network which provides a continuous supply of medicament to an absorbent lining around the inside of the outer covering. The medicament supply network contains a medicament reservoir located adjacent the opening of the boot and a series of supply fingers which extend along the inside of the contours of the outer covering to the extremities of the boot. A medicament of choice may be continuously supplied through the medicament supply network and transferred by the absorbent lining to the skin of the foot of the wearer.

  • Patent number: 4235662
Abstract: Low strain heteroepitaxy of (111) silicon on (111) lithium aluminum between the reconstructed 7.times.7 surface of (111) silicon and a 6.times.6 array of aluminum atoms on the surface of the (111) lithium aluminum. The 7.times.7 reconstructed (111) silicon surface contains 36 silicon atoms and 13 vacancies for every 49 surface sites. The 36 silicon atoms on an area averaged basis match the 36 aluminum atoms in the 6.times.6 aluminum diamond structure (zero vacancies) present at the (111) surface of lithium aluminum to within about 1%.

  • Patent number: 4222814
Abstract: A crystalline dual diamond sodium thallium type intermetallic compound is formed on a substrate surface from lithium and either aluminum, zinc or cadmium. The compound is grown within a magnetic field and, as a result, the compound is formed with a major crystallographic plane thereof aligned generally parallel to the field. Apparatus is disclosed for accomplishing formation of the compound. Silicon may later be grown on the surface of the compound.

  • Patent number: 4115625
Abstract: Relates to a composition of matter comprising a conductive sodium thallium type crystalline alloy substrate of LiZn, LiAl, LiGa, LiIn, NaTl or LiCd having crystalline silicon integrally overgrown thereon in an oriented crystal layer. Solar cells and semi-conductors can be formed from the product.

  • Patent number: 4042447
Abstract: Relates to a method for producing a product comprising crystalline silicon on a sodium thallium type substrate by application of silicon atoms gradually to that substrate whereby oriented overgrowth occurs and also to the product produced by said method. The product is useful in semiconductor and solar cell applications.
