  • Publication number: 20220042622
Abstract: A butterfly valve capable of preventing leakage under demanding environmental and operating conditions. The valve includes two stem seal assemblies. The stem seal assemblies include a first pusher, a first energizer, a second pusher, a second energizer, and a force transmitting member. The force transmitting member is configured to transfer an axial load to the second pusher, which causes the first and second energizer to expand radially to create a secondary and tertiary seals between the stem seal assembly and valve stem. In addition, the force transmitting member is configured to transfer an axial load to the first pusher which creates a primary seal.

  • Patent number: 8910921
Abstract: A valve and stem sealing assembly capable of preventing leakage under demanding environmental and operating conditions. The valve comprises a body and bonnet secured together to house a flow-element, stem, and stem sealing assembly. The body may contain a body joint encapsulated within its liner. The flow-element is positioned between a first port and second port on the valve. The body and bonnet may be configured to eliminate rotational forces from being translated to the bonnet. The stem sealing assembly comprises a primary seal, primary shaft insert, spacer, and force transmitting member. The stem sealing assembly may also comprise a secondary seal and secondary shaft insert. The stem seal assembly is substantially adjacent to the stem, and configured to fit within an annular space or cavity between the stem and the first body half, second body half, and bonnet. The valve may also include a leak detection port.

  • Patent number: 8702056
Abstract: A plug valve and stem sealing assembly capable of preventing leakage under demanding environmental and operating conditions while also improving the reliability of the valve seal. The valve includes a body, a flow-element, a bonnet and a self-adjusting stem sealing assembly. The body has a first port and a second port with a passage configured to flow a media extending between the first port and the second port. The flow-element is positioned between the first and second port and has a stem configured to actuate the flow-element between a closed position and an open position. The bonnet may be secured to the valve body and configured to secure the flow-element and stem sealing assembly in position. The self-adjusting stem sealing assembly is positioned adjacent to the stem and is configured to prevent media leakage from the valve.

  • Publication number: 20130340857
Abstract: An improved and more robust protection device capable of protecting a valve positioner in demanding environmental and operating conditions while also allowing for maintenance and inspection of the positioner without removing it from service. The protection device includes a housing configured to protect the valve positioner from external corrosion. The housing includes a top base, a bottom base and a central body extending between the top base and the bottom base. The central body may be joined to an edge of the top base and an edge of the bottom base thereby forming a perimeter circumscribing the top base and the bottom base.
