  • Patent number: 5584483
Abstract: Playing card shufflers having unshuffled stack holders which hold infeed arrays of playing cards. Ejectors are mounted adjacent an unshuffled stack holder, which can be stationary or movable. Cards are ejected and discharged from the infeed array at various random positions. The ejectors can be mounted on a movable carriage. Extractors are advantageously used to assist in removing playing cards from the infeed array. Removal resistors are used to provide counteracting forces resisting displacement of cards, to thereby provide more selective ejection of cards from the infeed array. One embodiment mounts over the edge of a card table.

  • Patent number: 5071625
Abstract: An analysis system of the concurrent type has a multicuvette unit supply station, a loading station, an analysis station, and transport mechanism for transporting cuvette units in correlated orientation between the several stations. Each cuvette unit includes mechanical interlock structure that cooperates with orientation structure at each of the several stations and with orientation structure carried by the transport mechanism so that continuity of cuvette orientation information is maintained throughout loading and concurrent analysis of the several samples in the cuvette unit.

  • Patent number: 4764342
Abstract: A sealed reagent container structure that contains reagent material, has a body portion with length and width dimensions each greater than its height dimension and port defining neck structure upstanding from the upper wall of the body portion and asymmetrically located so that it is close to one endwall of the body portion. Coupling structure on the bottom wall of the body portion is provided for interengagement with a transport mechanism so that a series of reagent containers may be disposed on the transport mechanism for movement past a reagent station where the reagent material is transferred from the reagent container to the analysis cuvettes for mixing with sample material and analysis.

  • Patent number: 4680164
Abstract: An analysis system of the centrifugal analyzer type has an analysis station for receiving a multi-cuvette rotor unit with means at the analysis station for performing analyses on the contents of a plurality of cuvettes of a multi-cuvette rotor unit concurrently, and means at the analysis station for spinning the rotor unit. Rotor hold down means at the analysis station includes disc structure for seating engagement with loading ports of the rotor unit at the analysis station, a disc support for allowing the disc to rotate freely in alignment with the drive axis of the drive mechanism, and mechanical means for moving the freely rotatable disc between an operative position in seating engagement with the loading ports of the rotor unit and a second position spaced from the seated position.
