  • Publication number: 20240108012
Abstract: A portioning machine reducing bulk semi-viscous material portions to lesser semi-viscous material portions and methods of operating and using are provided. The apparatus includes one or more horizontal conveyor belts with a stream of bulk semi-viscous material portions thereon processing a bulk semi-viscous portion from the stream. Two or more vertical conveyors are provided communicating with an end of the one or more horizontal conveyors and entraining the bulk semi-viscous material portions there between.

  • Patent number: 11790507
Abstract: The invention is directed to a foodstuff extrusion portioning device and more specifically a cutter head assembly on such an extruder having a servo motor, a cutter shuttle coupled to a cutting element, a controller and being programmed via a product variable to provide a velocity profile. The cutter in the velocity profile has a first velocity and it reduces speed to a second velocity and goes more slowly through the last portion of the foodstuff. The at least two velocities being fully programmable and the controller can provide for instantaneous and additional programmed velocities throughout the cutting profile. The cutter further providing tilt control so it can drop the portion at the moment the portion detaches from the extruded foodstuff stream. It cuts and/or breaks off portions in a far more uniform and controllable manner to more accurately portion and better place the cut portions.

  • Publication number: 20210353123
Abstract: The invention relates to an improved system, device and method for optimized, high volume cleaning of pans, related brush modules, and methods of operating and processing same A pan cleaning system having one or more modular swing arms for cleaning a flow of pans is provided. The system having a frame with a mounting point for each of the modular swing arms and the swing arm pivots about a pivoting element freely motivated by a swing arm actuator and controlled with a swing arm limiter coupled to one or more controllers. The modular swing arm is positioned by the one or more controllers by activating the swing arm actuator to position and to engage a dirty pan from the flow of pans at a pressure range exerted by the actuator and limited by the swing arm limiter such that the pan is cleaned.

  • Patent number: 9022768
Abstract: A multi stage auger system having a hopper with a first diameter opening tapering to a second smaller diameter opening, coupled to an auger tube at the second smaller diameter opening. An auger entry spiral with generally helical shape and a sweep arm coupled thereto, the spiral and the sweep arm skimming inside the product hopper to entrain the semi-solid materials from the hopper wall and, through the shape of the spiral, moving materials through the hopper from the first opening towards the second smaller opening. During this entrainment and movement by the spiral and sweep arm a space is left between the spiral and the sweep arm to remove air and voids from the semi-solid material through the movement. The auger has a first coarse pitch providing further removal of air/void spaces and a second finer pitch providing further movement under higher pressures near an exit of the auger.

  • Patent number: 8245885
Abstract: The invention is directed to semi-solid food product metering devices that typically have two counter rotating feed rollers with ends to entrain the semi-solid food product and has an at least one actuating device. The two feed rollers have two roller end plates at each end of the feed rollers, one being at a distal end of the rollers and the other at a proximal end of the rollers relative to the at least one actuating device with an at least one support bar. The feed rollers make a positive seal with the end plates. The semi-solid food product metering device of the invention has an open position and an operating position where the at least one support bar supports the two roller end plates in position while in the operating position and operating the semi-solid food product metering device, and allowing for lateral movement of the end plates away from the ends of the feed rollers to allow access to the gap between the feed roller ends and the roller end plates in the open position.

  • Publication number: 20080135582
Abstract: A device that provides better movement of semi solid materials such as but not limited to food products for metered dispensing. The device is able to take bulk semi solid material, entrain or draw the material into the device and add pressure to the semi solid material so that the semi solid material may be passed thru a nozzle or controlled discharge metering device or orifice. The rollers have circumferential grooved profiles and scrapers that are able to actively remove the semi-solid materials from the grooved profiles. The emitted semi solid material can then be more accurately applied or portioned in a metered fashion. Typical applications include but are certainly not limited to the production of cookies from bulk dough, the application of icing to a cake base/body/top or perimeter, metering of dough for bread or rolls so as to allow for a cutting device to cut off into uniform pieces.

  • Patent number: 6050053
Abstract: An improvement to prior art bag closure affixing devices of the type embodied in U.S. Pat. No. 3,163,967 to easily accommodate bags of various neck widths without the need for gear or sprocket changes. The improvement encompasses a modified clutch control for the bag closing head. The clutch is controlled by a clutch actuating arm which is mechanically connected to the clutch. When the actuating arm is depressed, the clutch disengages from a first stop surface and rotates only partially until engaging a second stop surface. The second stop surface remains in contact with the clutch, preventing completion of the closing cycle, until the bag neck completely passes over the actuating arm and the actuating arm is released. The second stop surface then disengages the clutch allowing the bag closing head to complete a closing cycle with bags of varying neck sizes without frictional damage to the bag or incomplete entry of the full bag neck.

  • Patent number: 5066940
Abstract: A brake pedal travel warning system for use in an automotive vehicle includes a brake pedal and a master cylinder associated with the brake pedal through a connecting link. The master cylinder includes a fluid reservoir containing brake fluid and a housing including an internal bore communicating with the fluid reservoir through a reservoir port, the bore defining a primary chamber and a second chamber. A primary piston is slidably disposed in a primary chamber and reciprocally moves therein. A secondary piston is slidably disposed in the secondary chamber. The master cylinder further includes a signal generation means associated with the primary piston for generating a warning signal in response to excessive piston travel in the primary chamber.
