  • Patent number: 6484451
Abstract: A stackable riser having a substantially smooth outer surface has a first open end defined by an edge and a second open end defined by a pair of adjacent channels, so that the edge defining the first open end of a first riser can mate with one of the channels defining the second open end of a second riser. A detachable anchor tab extends radially from the outer surface about the circumference of the riser. A plurality of risers can be stacked one on top of another, with, for example, the bottommost riser embedded in concrete and the risers above it embedded in soil. Preferably, the anchor tab of the bottommost riser remains attached to the riser and the anchor tab of the risers above it is removed.

  • Patent number: 5871640
Abstract: A septic tank filter system comprises a mounting member adapted for attachment to an interior surface of a septic system tank, at least one open-ended, cylindrical filter housing fixed to the mounting member, and a hollow foraminated filter nested in each filter housing. The filter has a first conduit providing a fluid flow connection between the filter interior and an outlet port in the filter housing. Liquid sewage is filtered during passage from the outside of the filter to its interior. Filtrate flows through the first conduit, then through the filter housing outlet port, thence through the mounting member and finally exits the tank through the outlet pipe in the tank wall. A score line in the filter housing side wall permits ready removal of a section thereof to form an inlet port. Telescoping channel members on the outside of the filter housings allow them to be interconnected with the outlet port of one in fluid flow connection with the inlet port of another.

  • Patent number: 4838731
Abstract: A system for leaching septic effluent is disclosed which includes a concrete distribution box having inlet and outlet openings formed therein located at different levels. An open-topped tray pivotally mounted in the distribution box at a level located between the levels of the inlet and outlet openings and has a counterweight secured to one side side of its pivotal mounting and a first stop to maintain the tray in a horizontal position against the action of the counterweight when the tray is empty. The tray is located to receive effluent from the inlet opening and the counterweight is dimensioned to be overcome by effluent in the tray when a predetermined amount of effluent is in the tray. As a result, the tray pivots against the influence of the counterweight away from its first stopped position to empty the tray and discharge the predetermined amount of effluent to the outlet openings.

  • Patent number: 4805920
Abstract: A seal and closure member of elastomeric material adapted to be cast in situ and comprising a cylindrical body portion and an integral frusto-conical skirt therewithin. A radially outwardly extending flange is embedded in adjacent concrete. The skirt has a knock-out web at its smaller diameter end portion and the seal and closure member may thus be employed selectively as closure members for apertures in distribution boxes and the like and as seals for pipes in communication with the box interiors. The seal also includes integrally formed bosses which allow a baffle to be secured directly thereon on the interior of the box opposite the end of a pipe in the seal.
