    Abstract: Crop tolerance to thiocarbamate herbicides, such as EPTC and butylate, and to the herbicide 2-(2,-2,2-trichloroethyl)-2-(3,5-dichlorophenyl)oxirane is improved on applying to the locus of the crop at least an antidotal amount of a chloropyridine having a chloromethyl, dicloromethyl or trichloromethyl group on the ring and at least one additional ring substituent which may be Cl, NH.sub.2, CCl.sub.3, methylsulfonyl or morpholino. The herbicide and antidote compounds may be applied concurrently separately or as a composition containing both compounds in combination.
