  • Publication number: 20080083403
Abstract: A monitoring system is connected to a hot water heating system. The monitoring system includes a controller and various controls and sensors. Sensors are connected to the components of the hot water heating system including the thermostats, pipes, pumps and valves. Controls are connected to the pumps and valves to control operation of the hot water heating system for testing. During normal operation of the hot water heating system, the sensors are monitored to ensure proper operation. If the heating system does not operate within certain defined time parameters, the system is activated to test components of the heating system. An alarm is activated if the system does not operate properly.

  • Publication number: 20040136589
Abstract: A method of modifying two-dimensional images includes providing a two-dimensional image that has a plurality of image columns. A first set of columns is interlaced with a second set of columns to prepare an interlaced image, and the first set of columns comprises the plurality of image columns of the two-dimensional image. The second set of columns comprises columns that are horizontally offset from the first set of columns and that are derived from the two-dimensional image. In a first embodiment, the plurality of image columns are horizontally offset to provide an offset image that comprises the second set of columns, which are horizontally offset. In a second embodiment, the two-dimensional image having a plurality of columns is interlaced with itself, and the second set of columns is derived directly from the two-dimensional image. In a third embodiment, an electronic system includes an input device configured to receive an image and a processing unit in electrical communication with the input device.

  • Patent number: 6146150
Abstract: A circuit card assembly includes a circuit card having a first type of connector extending along one of its longitudinal edges and a second type of circuit connector extending along its other longitudinal edge, so that the card assembly can be plugged into one type of computer bus or inverted and plugged into a second type of computer bus. Provisions are made for inverting a card bracket attached to an end of the card assembly, so that it is correct for both types of installations. In either case, the I/O connector(s) (if any) of the card assembly extend through the bracket for the connection of external cable(s).

  • Patent number: 5408157
Abstract: A high pressure discharge lamp includes a pair of arc tubes connected electrically in parallel within an outer envelope, which includes a lamp stem having a pair of stem conductors entering the lamp envelope in a common plane. The arc tubes include conductive feed-throughs at each end thereof. A lamp frame supports the arc tubes in a plane parallel with the stem conductors and is welded directly to each of the feed-throughs with all welds in a common plane with the welds between the frame and the stem conductors. The frame includes a resiliently deformable transverse member which allows for independent changes in length of the arc tubes during lamp operation due to thermal expansion/contraction. The frame is free of slip fit connections with the feed-throughs and free of additional conductive straps connected to the feed-throughs.
