  • Publication number: 20070261025
Abstract: An object editor capable of displaying a set of application software objects, which may include objects with a dynamic reflection capability (“reflective objects”), includes an object oriented configuration model instance (CMI), a generic adapter, and a UI framework. The CMI is particular to the set of application objects to be edited and defines a particular view of these objects to be provided by the editor. The CMI is external to the generic adapter and includes settings that control which application objects will be accessed and the manner of access, and in particular, which application objects will be visible, which of the visible objects' attributes will be displayed, the arrangement of displayed application objects and attributes, and the appearance of the displayed objects and attributes. The CMI is stored as a serialized XML file.

  • Publication number: 20070234318
Abstract: The present invention provides a method, system, and program product for generating source code for a function such as a Java method. Specifically, the present invention allows values passed as arguments to a method to be captured, and a property to be mapped to an output parameter such as a return bean. Attributes defined as part of a tag reference are interpreted by a code generator as being values that are set dynamically as a result of the arguments being passed to a method, or are interpreted as being a property to be assigned to an output parameter. Under the present invention, parameter information such as input parameter binding(s) and/or output binding(s) is provided using meta data language (e.g., Doclet) annotations. This parameter information is used by a code generator to generate the source code.

  • Publication number: 20060224633
Abstract: An import framework imports metadata from any type of metadata repository using a common use case flow. At least one discovery agent associated with a metadata repository is provided. Each discovery agent is configured to implement the common use case flow required to import metadata from a respective metadata repository. Metadata is imported from a selected metadata repository using the import framework and a discovery agent associated with the selected metadata repository.
